Yes
Worry about it! My Canon G 3 was stolen from my hotel-room with 300 pictures on! Ok, not in Phuket, but in Koh Samui!
Don't develop pictures in Los, but put them on cd-rom! Many Labs very bad there!
If the digicam is small, keep it in your pocket when you go out! If you don't use it put it in the safe or lock it in your suitcase!
Have fun! And show us the pictures!!!

There are two main problems remembering to take it out in the first place and remembering to bring it home other than that the're great.
It's quite cheap to get pictures developed, it pays to get a good sized memory card at least 128mb.
Have a good tour Jonny!
Now we expect pics as well.

My new camera is great - Its small enough to feel just like another packet of smokes in my pocket and takes pretty food pics...
Just got to keep remembering to check on it to make sure I have'nt left it anywhere...
The smaller the camera also means the easier it is to hide along with your ready cash and cash box key when you've got an LBFM BG back in your room. I find that making its location obvious also works as then she knows you know that she knows (Monty Python anyone) where it is and it is easy to keep an eye on and check on when she departs...
My problem with BG's and pictures is that when I get em into the room I go from 0-100 in 3 seconds flat (Vit V + Cialis + 5 hours of pre fornification induced I might add) and as a result forget all about the pictures until BG departure time unless I keep telling myself to take pictures but then it all becomes too much like hard work and I don't enjoy the action as much.
LOL Jonny - If we do meet up and you r staying in the C&N, I might come and take some for ye ya olde gurriah yah...

I think taking the camera out with you is a great idea. That way we will all enjoy looking at the pic's when you get back.
Go to one of the many leather craftsmen in Patong. They will custom make a pouch with a belt slot so you can carry it around easily for around 600 baht. Similar to the mobile phone ones. If it's a compact type then you hardly know they're there. You can choose from a range of leathers or skins. Lid on the top with velcro is a safe bet, and allow 10mm to one side for the cord.
Get into the habit of puting the camera back in the pouch after you take a pic. Quick and easy. Don't leave it out on tables or benches in anticipation for more pic's. This way even when your pissed, when you get up and go, the camera goes with you.
For a 4 megapixel camera you'll need a 256mb card for around 125 pic's of the highest quality and size. Always use the highest quality and size setting. You can always scale down on pc, but you will never go from bad to good quality. If you take heaps of pic's, burn them to cd or get a media mass storage device to dump to. When you get home you can view and edit/clean the pic's and decide which one's you want printed.
Happy Snapping.
PS. Once home I always regret not taking more pic's.

I used a Sony DSC P10 on my last trip. It's a 5.0 pixels but really, it's not necessary to use this resolution. I took picures in 3.1 pixels and the quality is very high. With a 128 Mb memory stick, it's possible to take more than 100 pictures.
Then, anywhere in Patong, you can find a photoshop to write them on a CD, so you can empty you memory stick (after checking the CD !!) and take more pictures.
Enjoy your trip, Jonny. Hope you will post nice and great pics when back.

Hi Johnny,
I got two made at shop 1 on the map and was very happy with the result. Refer to attached. Shop 2&4 are of the same owner and had alot of good quality leather goods, so I don't think you'd go wrong there either.
Cheers
