Does anyone know what the weather should be like mid to late August? I know its still considered monsoon season, but I hope it won't be raining for 3 weeks straight.

All day long?
When you talk about rain every day and the weather reports each day say scattered thunderstorms, what does that mean? Does it rain all day long, does it drizzle on and off for hours with a few 20 to 30 minute cloudbursts in between? Does it stop raining and for how long? Does the sun ever come out?
One rainy season in California, I didn't see the sun for over a month, literally, and when the rains come here it usually rains almost continually, often with hours of torrential downpour, broken up with hours of drizzling, and sometimes a few dry hours in between cloudbursts, although we usually get a couple of sunny days in between storms.
Just trying to get a better picture of what it is like since I've only been there in the dry season, and the rains were infrequent and brief in duration when it did rain.

Sometimes it rains continuously other times it can be variable.
During 14 days in May it rained solid for about 3 or 4 days there was sunshine for about 7 days and scattered showers for 4 days.
This was considered good for this time of year I know people who have gone in May for two weeks and it rained the whole time, luck of the draw I guess.
Trust me when it rains heavy it really buckets down so bring an umbrella for the rainy season.

Last year I was there in rainy season May, June, July, September and tail end of rainy season; beginning of November, Except November which had good sun , it was hot, humid and wet, if it wasnt raining it was usually overcast with the sun sometimes trying to break through. You get the odd day of broken clouds with sun. All of this doesnt bother me because if you want the sun you wont see to many Thai people because generally they hate the sun.
By far the worst month is usually Sep
cheers G

No rain yesterday, very hot and ended up drinking whole day and night! woke up with 2 freelancers on my bed...did I do the deed? Well to ensure that I did it, had a morning marathon...2000 Baht for 2 girls..hmmm nice to be in Patong during low season.
According to the hotel staff, no rain for the last few days and this morning..same same...beginning to talk like Thai.
Just found out last night, I took the wrong time to come to Patong...saturday all bars must close by 6.00 pm as Sunday is election day for Patong..whatever! Looks like I have to go to Phuket town for my enjoyment.
Right now, too many girls and not enough guys..what a life!

Hopefull.........
I HOPE I DONT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS SHITE IN LOS.......
ITS NOT AS BAD IN IRELAND BUT THE WEATHER IS STILL CRAP..........
BRITAIN was rocked by winter weather yesterday as gales and floods wreaked havoc.
The South was worst hit as gales uprooted trees and heavy rain caused floods and landslides.
Weather warnings were in place across the region as the dire conditions moved north.
A landslip in CORNWALL saw dozens evacuated from homes and many nearby roads were closed after flooding.
A SWANSEA girl suffered a broken leg when debris blew off a youth club roof.
LONDON commuters faced tough journeys as flooding and fallen branches blocked Tube lines. Ferries to France were cancelled.
Large chunks of BRIGHTON’S crumbling West Pier were swept away.

Same same in Belgium
Very bad weather in Belgium too yesterday, we didn't have so much wind for 4 years. Many car accidents, trees on the road (or on the cars), many people hurt and some die.
What a shit! I want to go back to LOS asap.
I don't remember who had given this link http://www.alexmalcolm.net/ but it's a very realistic one about weather. No forecast, only comments about the real weather, updated everday.
