Hello.... I visited Brazil back in 2003..... Lots of fun. Make sure you buy an airpass, because the country is much to big to travel with car, bus or train.

I also send you a PM with a link about a forum.

Cheers,

Raval

Brazzil - Brazil 24/7 :: Index

do's

great food. great beaches. beautiful women.nice places. night life is a lot different from what your used to see in los.girls are anywhere, 90% of 'em are freelancers, the rest work in night clubs. best place to get to know them is the beach or discos. hotels on the average do not allow over night guestes, best thing to do is to rent a flat, or book in a POSADA, KIND OF GUEST HOUSE.

dont's

be aware when you set the price whit a girl, usually price is 100/150 reals, though next morning you might be asked to pay that price in $$$.

do never show off your goods, never wear gold chains, whatches, and such, while walking in RIO, the same applies for your camera,

do never let any girl take you in places that you have no clue where they are.

stay as much as you can among ppl.

ps: do not let my post put you off. enjoy your trip Brazil is a great place.

I have been to Fortaleza and Rio.. I did not feel safe in Rio....

Iguazu Falls are amazing which is between Brazil and Argentina.

I much preferred Buenos Aires and Montevideo......

Near where the cruise ships dock in Rio there was a great club/bar/hotel with many good looking BG's called Hotel Scandinavia.

I am going next year, in around April.

Bit nervous about it, but should be fun.

At this stage only got Rio, Salvador and Iguazu down on my itinerary (scratched Florianopolis off the list). Anyone got other suggestions that I should look into?

If any BMs think they might be in Brasil at that time, drop me a line.

a fantastic place, lived there a year....was 16 and spent 2 months at the end of the year backpacking around the country alone....not a single problem. best advice i could give is try to 'look' as local as you can. stuff is not so cheap, but pretty easy to get things you want over there. Rio will be a very good time, but so many cities have good night life..not just p4p. so it's not like if you are outside Rio it will be dead like here in los.....it's a culture that revolves around nightlife and fun of all kinds.

If you can be sensible, simply stay in places that are populated etc and you should have a GREAT time.......

Here's a movie from some of the highlights of Brazil. Make sure you don't mis Foz do Iguazu (The waterfalls).

Enjoy.

Thanks Raval.

At this stage, I'm planning 2-3 full days at Iguazu, then 7 days in Rio de Janeiro, 2 days in Buzios, then 5 days in Salvador.

Hope and expect to see plenty of this while in Rio
