On average you will get 1 baht to the dollar more taking Aussie cash to a booth in Bangla Road than you will changing your money any other way.

Also the exchange booths in Thailand do not charge a fee for the currency change whereas booths here in Oz certainly do ($A8 a time I believe)

Pity you weren't there last week (early Nov) we were getting over 30 baht to the dollar....Enjoy.

Dont even think of changing it at Perth airport! When I went through 2 weeks ago they were offering 24 Baht to the AUD. Next morning I changed currency in Bangkok at 30.5. Plus they charge a fee of $5.00. local banks in Perth are a bit better but I have always found it better to change in LOS. As for a thai bath in Phuket I hear Christins is pretty good and there is a certain lady at Mr. Good Massage on Rat U Thit rd. (next to Mr Good Seafood) Ask for Pad Thai (not the noodle) great massage and maybe even a backscrub for you in your room later on.
