Not long now

Hi people.

Will be flying to BKK on 23rd December then down to Krabi on 25th. Spending 8 days on Krabi, 3 on Koh Lanta and then 6 on Samui. Looking at weather forecasts, it looks bleak at the moment, especially for Krabi. I know sometimes though when they show rain on the forecast, its just a couple of showers and its generally sunny. Is this the case at the moment? can anyone help?

Also, we dont have time to shop in Bangkok. Out of the other places I mention, where is best for shopping? Anywhere good on Krabi or would I be best waiting to get to Chaweng on Samui?

Thanks in advance

Elky

Dont worry about the weather - dry season is here ... all we are likely to have is thunderstorms which pass in a couple of hours.

Shopping - wait for Samui. Have a good trip and welcome to the board.

Thanks.

I was hoping to just pack a couple of pairs of shorts and t-shirts and then buy the rest out there. Is there anywhere I can buy a few clothes, trainers in Krabi before doing proper shopping in Samui?

Best shopping would be in BKK if you have the time.....can get all sorts of beachwear at excellent prices in places like Pratunam markets

We get to BKK about 7 in the evening I think. Is this market open at night?

Just been reading up on Pratunam markets and seen a couple of sites say it is 24 hour and a few that say it closes at 6pm. Can anyone shed any light on this? Looks an ideal place for me and the missus to shop cos we both want to buy a few presents for family etc while we are there and also onthe look out for plenty of clothes. Would be perfect if we could go there as soon as we get to BKK at night time because we fly to Krabi at 10am the next day

Also, I've just read that it isnt open on Mondays. We get to BKK on Monday 24th.

Sorry for all the questions, just dont want a wasted journey there if we can help it!

Cheers again

Elky

You'll find in Bkk that most of the market stalls will be open nearly 24hrs, whether the main markets or stalls thrown up on Sukhumvit Road. Most will offer clothes at great prices after a haggle on price!
