Go to family mart or 7eleven and ask for a Hatari international phone card for 300 Baht. You dial the free phone number on the back of the card from your mobile. Its takes no credit off your mobile balance. Just follow the instructions on the back of the card and you'll get about 50 mins with a 300 Baht card.

Big C Shopping centre, Basement. Phuket.
In one of the corner's you'll find a Dtac counter.
Ask them to set up your phone with a Dtac sim card, also put 1000baht credit onto the sim card.
Don't forget to ask them what the International dialing codes are for Uk calls. It's not your normal 0044 crap.
Charges; landlines - 50baht for approx 30 minutes. Mobile calls - Expensive!
