...and for everyone who isn't in the UK you can watch it on YouTube before they see it in the UK because it's already posted there. Who needs a telly!!

YouTube - Koh Phi Phi, Thailand

She looks good in a bikini but she's not impressed with Maya Bay. What did she expect for Bhuddas' sake!...it is a tourist spot these days.

Sounds like they got ripped off paying for the speedboat....555 Unbelievable the money some of these travel reporters must get to produce something that tells you so little about the place they're reporting on.

Give me Lonely Planet over that any day.

The boat-trip/fishing-trip with the sea-gypsies looked interesting. At one point the old boy is sitting in the fishing boat drinking beer - surely he's a board member?

Another fine piece of docu-fiction. These are the real sea gypsies of Phi Phi. They dive for hours scavenging the sea bed using h00kers (no not that type, plastic tube connected to a diving mask) connected to a small compressor on the longtail, you can see the coils of plastic hose in the longtail. They don't follow the rules of diving so finish up getting horrible bent, if you visit the village you will see how the older guys cannot even stand up straight anymore. They must have edited that bit.
BTW the beaches shown at the start are in the Similan Islands, not Phi Phi.

By the way, how's Phi Phi island now. The last time I went there I stayed at Charlie Beach Resort. Sadly, it was wiped out by the tsunami. Any good place to stay on that side of the island now?

Phi Phi is still a great place, I was there for 2 days 1 night, 25+26 December 2007 - last time was in July 2003.

But not so many palm trees on Phi Phi now as before.

Yep, the tour to Phi Phi was one of the best things I did in my XMAS holiday.
Great weather, good snorkling, good time with a great GF, almost 265 photos with me home just from Phi Phi
