Salvation!

Good afternoon gents, and any ladies reading this. A bloke who I occasionally have a drink with while watching footy in the pub is getting married in Willesden on Saturday. He`s marrying a Thai lady and guess what? There are going to be between 150 and 200 people at this wedding and reception and a fair few of the guests are single Thai women! Also the lady that my mate is marrying does dancing and apparently all her dance class friends are coming as well.I have been advised they may be a bit young for me,I`ll give it a go though Supposed to be Thai food and drink at the reception as well so it could be a cracker of a day. Will advise on Monday how it went.

hè Hè I also went to Thai parties/weddings abroad! Not the kind of persons you would meet in a bar in patong! We also thought to have "some fun".

It turned out a very traditional crowd, very decent, just like regular Thais.

Good morning ladies and gents. Well a good time was had by all. Not as many people attended the reception as was first envisaged but that was not a bad thing as there was more lovely Thai food to go round. The bride`s brother cooked the food as he works or owns a restaurant in London. It was absolutely delicious.I closed my eyes and for a brief moment I was back in LOS. The local Thai community were there plus a few Thai/Brit couples which even though I was half expecting it still surprised me. There was only a few single Thai girls there but did manage to have a chat with one of them. Her name is Emmy and she has been over here for thre months. She is studying and lives in the area around the Elephant and Castle which I thought was quite ironic! My mate`s missus tried to play matchmaker but Emmy wasn`t having any of it.She was very polite and I didn`t push it which I think she appreciated especially after I apologised later when we were not surrounded by my cronies. One final note, my good old phrasebook came in handy again becuase I surprised the brie by saying YIN DII which means CONGRATULATIONS. She looked surprised but genuinely happy that I said it. She commented later to Rob,the condemned man, how nice it was that I had spoken a bit of Thai to her. .164 days to go,bring it on!!!
