There is also a Sukumvit road not far from Bangla on Rat u thit, There are quite few bars there, I had a walk around once but it was early and quiet.
Im sure a few BM's will have a bit to add.

There is a Sukhumvit in Patong Entrance almost opposite C&N Hotel.
Haven't drunk in any of the bars myself though so can't give an opinion.

I was there in July, it was completely dead. Only customers were the ones using the free pool tables. Those bars must be loosing big money.

The one in PAtong is mostly dead! BUT you can find some very nice girls in there. Although they dont stay there very long for the reasons you would think.
Some bars are actually very nice, but for some stupid descions at high levels, 75% of all trade has been put off. Badly designed and badly putt together.

My prediction will be that the soi will be closed for good during low-season.....
Quite a few bars are left by the owners already

Closing the shortcut through to the back of soi Sea Dragon was the ultimate killer for the soi though.

I don't mind going in there every now and then. Yes it's more quiet however it kind of reminds me of when I first came over here on holidays, walking into a soi and all the girls screaming out. Good for the ego
I guess because they don't get as many punters in there, they have a lot more enthusiasm towards you when walking by. I know it's got to be that, I've put on a few pounds and years since my first time.

When you don't know what you are talking about it is better to be discreet.
Sukhimvit Road is off Ratutit Road and has been open two years. It does not get much business as most people head straight for Bangla. They used to have a walk through to the rear of Sea Dragon but recently the owners blocked it in and effectively killed off the walk by trade.

I usually head there after leaving your place. Although I never seem to get past the first bar where "Ting Tong" works that I seem to remember Geir knows too.
Didn't a BM used to own a bar there too......... I get so confused! MAybe the rents cheap enough to be the launch pad for my "Auction House Bar". All i need now is a gavel? Thinking too......... that when the auction for the BF is over, just before I strike the gavel in my Judges uniform (One of those big curly white wigs), I could get a loud speaker with "Stop......... HAmmer time" by the greatest rapper of all time*, MC HAMMER, to play.
(*Mc Hammer, pipped Stakka Bo to the title!)

Why has that walk through been closed, for what reason?

No Brainer owner
The management of Sukhumvit thought that if the blocked off the access they would have all the customers staying in their street.
Wrong idea - everybody now goes straight down Bangla!!! Yet another "face" situation

very surprised at the replies as i found it on a Phuket website and it portrayed it as busy (well it would) with plenty of entertainment put on.
