Does anyone know about the new resort on Phi Phi. It's meant to be finished this year and be a 5 star place

Phi Phi Island Cabana Hotel
Phi Phi Cabana Resort, Booking of Phi Phi Cabana Resort, Phi Phi Cabana Resort Ton Sai Bay
Went and had a look in oct 07 was just opened looks very good,and had spec rates of 3000 baht a night.
Looked very good and may stay a couple of nights on this years trip.

The Cabana isn't a new resort been there many many years. It got trashed in the Tsunami so maybe they are relaunching it after completing renovations.

It's brand new, not a tidy up etc

ITS NEW OLD RESORT WAS GONE IN FEB 05 WHEN I WAS THERE ONLY SAND AND A FEW PALM TREES,ALL NEW BUILDINGS

Soory mate you are mistaken. I have been working on Phi Phi for the last 2 years and have watched the renovations in progress. Cabana is 100 % not a new resort.

So some new buildings have been added I believe.
the hotel has grown across from where it was originally.
the rooms and building I was shown were new.
the reception area was a new building.

where I am talking about is from about the far end of pool to past the left hand side of picture.

anyway I will be staying here as was one of the better hotels I saw on PHI PHI.
