Nanook & Operation "SnowGirl"

If I remember correctly, it's just 2 days for you before take-off. Surely you are very excited.

Hope you enjoy and have a great time, more importantly, I hope it all works out with all the
paperwork and you can show your girl some snow this year!!! Fingers crossed.

Thanks for your concern. Actually, I fly out to Bangkok on Jan 31 and return Feb 17.

Latest information I can share is that yesterday she went to the Dutch embassy and handed over all the paperwork for the visa application. Aparently there were many people (ladies) doing the same.

Yesterday, she was told to call back today to hear if the application has been approved, but the embassy people told her, they have so many appplications that hers was not handled yet. Now she has to call back tomorrow afternoon Thai time.

I hate that waiting and so does she.... Guess I have to enlighte another incense stick...

Thanks for the good wishes guys.

Here is a little update...
This afternoon the embassy told my GF that we need to provide some more information of how we meet. Hence, I had to write an additional letter and then fax it to the embassy. So I did and had it checked by the travel agency here in The Hague who booked our tickets and assists her with the rest of the application. According to their experience, the letter was OK and they faxed it to our Embassy right away.
The embassy should now be satisfied and issue the visa. She will learn the result Tuesday or Wednesday. Hence one week after the application.

If she will get it, then all together it was not too bad, but the waiting game is killing her as she is so anxious to get her visa so we can move on from there.

The agency also showed me that this week they themselves have been assisting in total 5 ladies for a Dutch short stay or holiday visa. One was approved, for two (including ours) they requested some more information and 2 were passed on to the Immigration Department in Holland, because they had lots of questions marks about the sincerety of these two requests.
If that happens, it may take at least three more months (and maybe even more) before you know if you would get the visa. And often you can forget it.

The fact that my GF's application was now neither rejected nor passed on to the Immigration Department, should be a positive sign. Based on their experience, the agency told me that they expect my GF will get the visa. So by Wednesday, we should now more!

So my friends... "Operation SnowGirl" continues!

Yes it does look positive. But still it is no guarantee. Despite all our other papers being OK, they can just decide how they see fit. Hence, even refuse the visa.

So please ask your lady to light an extra candle for us
