Finally - Singapore contract starts....!!!!!

Well its been a marathon but at last I'm off to Singapore for at least 6 months working on an Oil & Gas Project which could last for 2 to 3 years.

Good money, serviced 1 bed appartment supplied, flights, expences for food and transport, bonus at the end ................ and only 12% tax.......!!!!!!!!!

I've been waiting for this job to start for over a year and after a huge medical - everything from x-rays, heart stress test, every blood test known to man (no HIV tho....thank gawd), poked and proded (almost) everywhere I'me finally flying out on Sunday.

But the best part is its only a couple of hours from LOS.........

However I've looked on the internet and it appears that Thai's do not require a visa prior to going to Singapore (can get a 15 or 30 day visa at Sing immigration) but does anyone know otherwise.....????????

Big congratulation.

I think many will envy you, your truly included.

Not sure of Thais, but I know that vietnamese get 14 or 15 days on arrival. Can only assume that it is the same for Thais

That's right they just need to show they have enough money to support themselves in Singapore. This is known as show money.

First of all our congretulations Les. I am really happy for you. Think you will like it there.

Now you can start applying for a Tiger Airlines frequent flyer pass for your cheap flight to LOS.

Yes Coolhand is right for Singapore. She needs to show, she has enough funds. Alternatively, you could bring Nee in yourself. To my knowledge 30 days is the mx they can stay without visa, but I do not know what are the minim intervals between visits. I am sure there is a decent Singapore website informing you about that.

Anyway, I hope you will have a great time there and let me know in which area of town you will get your appartment.

Yes Frank I've already checked and sorted out the visa situation and will probably go over to get her as she's a wee bit frightened to come on her own - will let you know where I'm staying when "I" know............55555555

Congrats Les ....!!!

Hope to read a lot of reports from you how life is there.

Singapore is on my toplist as next country to check out once we've accomplished our mission here, let's say in about 3+years time.
