I wonder if anyone used the chat? I havent used it for a long time and I dont know if somebody used it. It is currently not installed and I am thinking of maybe buy a better chat program, like Volano chat or similar commercial programs available.

I also registered thailand-photos.net and will put up my photos. It may be possible to link the user database of this forum to the gallery program so users can create their own galleries. It is not up and running yet but in few days time I hope.

Any suggestions?

Good to see your constantly looking/thinking of ways to increase functionality of the site.

I cant comment on chat as I've never used it.

Allowing users to create their own picture galleries, wont you be creating an administrative nightmare for yourself, with having to moderate every picture posting.

Thailand-Photos.net is now up and running. The main page is not finished but the gallery program is now installed and tested.

I did a test with 49 pictures but I am sorry I skipped the title/desciption by mistake during this test, I will edit them later. These pics are some of my latest ones I took during the last weeks.

It is important that IF you upload any picture that you try to write an accurate title and description. It makes it more easy in the future to find pics in a special category.

All members have 5mb storage were you can upload your favourite Thailand pics. Use same login and password as in this forum to be able to upload or comment pictures.

Enter Gallery
Logon (top right hand corner of page - use your forum name and password)
Click on my gallery (top left of page)
Click on Upload photos
Enter file name yo upload
click on upload/submit
enter file name description etc
wait for photo to be allowed
Voila

Well thats what I did there may be quicker ways

Sorry guys, I did something wrong with permissions but it should be OK now. Also saw that people could not assign categories to the pics (Only members gallery) but now you can chose your category aswell. (Pictures in a category also belongs to your private member gallery)

I have 35-40,000 pics from my years in Phuket and will upload more during the time.

Moderating pics is an easy task, I have a queue and can easy allow a batch of pics to be posted in just few seconds.

I know a good programm to reduce the size (kbytes) of a photo.
Just download the irfanview programm for free from this website:
http://www.irfanview.com

This programm might prove to be handy before you upload your pictures, to save space.

When you have downloaded and installed this programm, just open a picture in the irfanview programm, and then click on the Image tab from the menu, and then choose resize/resample.

I installed a chat server now for evalution, so it can be maximum 30 users online and only one room.

Give it a try and drop in sometimes...

thanks Nicke for you effort. can't tell bout the Chat, tried once, but it takes ages to load, so i gave up. BTW, can I post "naughty"

pics of my tour or just normal pics? dun want to give you any troubles.

A brilliant idea to get the gallery up & running.Looking at everyones photo's at least helps keep the memories alive until the next trip (12,000,000 seconds but who's counting!!!).Thanks for setting this up Nicke,as well as all the other bits and pieces that you do to keep the LOS exiles up to date with happenings in Patong.

I don't think it will be OK, but you can always post a link - I for one would love to see your naughty pictures

Nicke how long does it takes before the fotos are approves. I uploaded some but they are still on pending approval.

I look atlest once a day to approve photos. Sometimes more often. Dont worry, I will look after looking throught the messages at the forum.

Many thanks for setting up the Gallery and Chat.The gallery is especially great for viewing BM s pics that wouldnt normally be posted.Its a great way to keep the memories of Thailand going until the next trip I'm sure all BMs would join me in saying what a great job you are doing and we do appreciate it

Isn`t this a nice way to show all the people who think we just go to thailand for the sex that it is not only the sex we`re intrested in but also to country itselfs. There are really some verry nice photos from some members and I enjoy it just watching them. It also gives me ideas for the next holiday i`m gonna spend in thailand. Still so many places I didn`t see before or just passed by without noticing it`s beauty.

Just like to add my congratulations on the idea for the photos.

It has brought back so many memories of my only previous trip, and made me even more excited for my next trip.

But how does everyone else seem to remember their cameras, and then actually use them. Im always forget to bring it out, or am too drunk to remember to take photo's. That is why ive only posted like 4 pic's, because i never had the camera with me.

Incidently, on one of the few times i brought it out, i was nearly mugged by a lb on the beach road. But it was my fault for walking home drunk!!!
