Thai music ?

Hello guys,

I've been to LOS last summer for the first time and that was also the first time that I got to hear thai live music, in the Galaxy disco that is. I kinda liked the songs they played there and I guess it must be some popular thai music seeing how my BG was able to sing along with most of the songs played.

So my question here is, if anyone knows what those songs are called by chance. The genre was mostly Thai rock / pop. My BG tried explained the lyrics of one of those songs to me; it was something about a guy loving a girl, but he'd have to hurry up if he really wanted her, otherwise it'd be too late and she'd fall for someone else ... the typical stuff. But I can't understand the text anyways and liked the music, so I'd be glad if someone who knows what I'm talking about could give me a hint on how those songs are called, and which groups they're from. I tried looking for them on my own, but none of which I found sounded familiar.

Thanks, Zyndell

hmm num bao sao parn by Carabao & Parn are always popular with the girls:

YouTube - Num Bao - Sao PARN -Artist Carabao - Parn

i'm sure you heard that one a few times. some thai rock/pop bands which are always popular and played in lots of clubs and on TV are: Bodyslam, Clash, BigAss, Fahrenheit, Cream, Black Vanilla, etc. have a look out for those

naturally its the isaan music that gets the BG's going the most from what i've seen (the usual pentatonic scale played over and over on a strat), but i don't know any isaan bands off the top of my head other than Angkanang, as my tilak loves her 55

YouTube - Angkanang - Pee Ja Lub Tha Wai

The two links you left me didn't ring a bell, but I was looking around on youtube for some of those bands, and I think Carabao & Parn seems to be the one I was looking for. I didn't find the song I described in my previous post yet, but I'm pretty sure I recognized a few others. However, I think that the live band playing at Galaxy back then was some kinda rock band that powered those songs up a bit, because this isn't really the same. They're way more soft than the ones at the disco, so I guess they just rocked those popular songs in their own way to make them sound better.

Thanks for the tips, I'll keep looking those up. If anyone else happens to have an idea, shoot em over

You might try Muay Thai Ring Music. I particularly like 'Paying Respect to Teachers', but 'Round 5' comes a close second ...

Thanks alot for the links. The thai lyrics site is going to keep me busy for a while now xD. I already found some more on there, and for example "Clash - kor chet nam dta" seems to be a huuuuge step into the right direction of what I was looking for.

I'm totally aware of every word I wrote. The 2 links you gave me in the first place DID not ring a bell to me, I think I've never heard them before. However I specified that after looking around on youtube for alternative productions of the group "Carabao & Parn", I did find a couple of things. That was thanks to you who was pointing me into the right direction with the band names you provided, but just not the 2 you gave me right there. Same with the other bands, but it's kinda hard looking for songs if you have no clue what you're actually looking for, so I was glad to hear other valuable advice and hints from other BMs.

Took me half the song to realise why you thought it was a bit scary. Me, however, will buy the DVD!
