Depends where your staying - advisable to set yourself up with WiFi as many places have 'Hot Spots' - Summer Breeze, Faulty Towers for example as BM owned places that offer free access.
Check with your hotel what they offer, but you should not have any problems using your lappy here mate.

I picked my hotel based on wifi. A tip I thought I'd pass on is that 120 volt laptops (US) can be plugged into Thai outlets without having to use a converter. I have noticed the power bar gets hot sometimes so I don't leave it plugged in. Check to see that it can take 240 volts but I think most of them do. It will say 120-240 v.

Hi Suttoh,
I toyed with the idea of bringing my laptop but decided to buy an extra couple of memory cards and do it all when I return home.
I thought less to carry, less to look after, less stress. I already am bringing my SLR, Video camera and underwater camera, as well as fins, mask etc. so bringing the laptop might be too much.
If I need to download any pictures I would just take my camera to an internet cafe and email them via my yahoo mail account.
Enjoy your trip. i will be interested to hear about it before I leave in late March.
Regards
HV.

Suttoh, there are certain photos that you can't upload onto this board, silly things like naked girls (or ladyboys ...) etc. Best if you just email the 'bad' ones to me and I will act as a 'backup' for you. If something goes wrong with your camera or laptop you will be assured that I have your photos safely backed up. And I won't look ...

Hi Suttoh. I know a lot of BMs take laptops but personally unless needed for business it is just another item that can go missing. A 1 or 2 gig card can take 500 to 1000 photos and if you really need to take more have them burnt to a disk or take a memory memory stick. Plenty of photo print places and plenty of Internet Cafes.
