Welcome to the board!
Don't know much about hair style, but good luck in your search.

Okay TC, here I am back to answer all your hair questions.
They offer short Time and Long Time (no joke) short time lasts for about 2/3 months and will cost approximately 500bht, if you opt for long time its lasts for 6 months or more and cost 1k upwards. These are locals prices and you will be charged more in places like Central or Junceylon shopping centres.
Never had this process done personally, but girlfriend does reguarly and it does not seem to hurt her hair. Although quite hard to tell because Thai girls seem to loose a lot of hair all the time, unless thats a bg trick of claiming their territory, and they also have an amazing ability to tell if the black strands belong to them or someone else???

You can also buy a 'different' kind of chemical straightener at the chemist next to the hairdressers...........500 baht for 4.............Alledgedly!
Is there anything you can buy to dissolve the hair in the shower plug hole! I'm fed up of picking it out with a pair of pliers!

uuuurrrr I HOPE your talking about BAKING SODA here and not CAUSTIC SODA cause any bikkies with Caustic Soda in it are gonna make Soi dogs ( or anyone else who eats em for that matter) drop faster than a brides knickers on her wedding night.
If you do indeed put caustic soda in your bikkies then I will pass on any morning teas at your place thanks all the same.

Caustic Soda (Sodium hydroxide or lye) is indeed used in food preparation, including baking. German lye rolls or pretzels for example.

bloody hell. Wont be eating an German Pretzels at the bar then !
Sodium hydroxide is a manufactured chemical. It is present in several domestic cleaning products. Very low levels can produce irritation of the skin and eyes. Exposure to the solid or concentrated liquid can cause severe burns in the eyes, skin, and gastrointestinal tract which may ultimately lead to death. This substance has been found in at least 49 of the 1,585 National Priorities List sites identified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
ATSDR - ToxFAQs™: Sodium Hydroxide
And they say you dont learn something new every day. Thanks for the info but I still aint eating no bikkies made with that stuff in it

You will be surprised what chemicals are being used in food.
Another example is the salt you taste in many forms of liquorish is ammonium chloride (saltpeter). Chemicals that are both very nasty.
A few years ago I went to a cherry processing facility to do some monitoring for sulfur dioxide (SO2) which is also a nasty chemical (toxic at 2ppm - gas), but a common food preservative. At this facility they would bathe and bleach the cherries in a strong solution of SO2 to make all the cherries albino white. Once that process was completed they would add red dye.
Why you ask? Because consumers shopping for cherries in the supermarket tend to pick the cherries (in jars) with the most consistent and pleasing colors ... something nature fail to do.
