There may be info already posted on those. I would try using the search function(if you have not already) to see if there is any info on those hotels aready posted. You might get info quicker that way.

Hi

I Stayed at patong merlin 15 years ago and it is favoured by Australian travel agents. You been a girl and if you are travelling with partner or freind, you will love it. it is a nice resort and has 3 big pools. Funny enough I was at the bank today and a teller was serving a young lady and enquired about her holiday. She had just been to Phuket. I butted in and asked her a few questions about phuket as i am leaving on thursaday. Well she told me she stayed at Patong Merlin as well and loved it. She was with 3 other girls.

Hope this helps.

Cool Both good

Both are good and centrally located on the beach area. You can probably find them on the map.

It depends what you are looking for.

I stayed at the Patong Merlin hotel with my wife in Feb 2006.

The place is very well run and clean.

You have two very large swimming pools to choose from, set in a lush garden with palm trees and exotic plants, an air conditioned fitness centre with table tennis, and access directly to the beach road.

The rooms are largish with balconies either overlooking the pools or overlooking the rear garden, with in room safes.

Buffet breakfast is usually included and is first class. A great selection of freshly cooked thai dishes, western full breakfast, exotic fruits, or you can have the chefs cook specialties in front of you, like omelette crepes with the filling of your choice.

It's about 10 minutes brisk walk along the beach road to the famous Bangla Road entertainment centre.

I believe this establishment aims for the family or couples market and may disallow overnight guests if that is your scene.

Too expensive in my opinion.

You should be able to get excellent accommodation in Patong for much less, but if money is not an issue, you should enjoy your stay.

I had friends (couples) stay at both last Oct and were very happy. Both Resorts are promoted by travel agents as being family orienteted although singles / couples would also enjoy. They have very good pools and are close to the beach and all the action of Patong.

i believe it was one of the hotels extensively damaged in the Tsunami, and if so, would be completely done over in the part closest to beach
