Did you pay for the food, entertainment package?
Did you pre arrange your seating i.e your prefered seat as I cant work out how to do It, Bloody computer giving me a hard time.
Have the planes been full? on time.
Any comments would be great to hear as ive been hearing a few negative things about Jetstar.

I have flown with jestar from melbourne before and will again in April. Provied you look at it as a 10 hour bus ride with no frills, they are fine. I think I paid around $1100 for a 1 way trip from melb via sydney to phuket and returning from KL to melb. It is a bit more expensive when you change sectors.
They were on time, plane clean, staff unfriendly, paid for beers as I got thirsty

steve if you haven't done your prefered seating yet you will likely be at the @rse end as the ones I have been on recently are full.

Thanks Dori,
Thats the thing i forgot to ask, how much do they sting you for a beer?
Yes thats one of the things ive heard that the hosties were unfriendly which I think is a joke, so what if its a cut price trip they dont have to skimp on the smiles its not like they are getting paid less.
i think 10 hours on the plane Im gunna get pretty thirsty too.

Steve,
I have flown Jetstar (domestically) and Virgin to the Pacific. Cut price airlaines are what you get.
Flying to BKK and then Phuket with Thai March 27. Airfare is $1400 return. A Retained Firey from my station just flew with Thai to BKK and he said they were excellent.
See you there!
HV.

Hi HV,
I Flew Thai last time and they were great but im taking the short cut this time and going direct to Phuket. A real pain in the date going via bangkok the lay over is too long,
Getting excited, those retained must get paid well, overseas holidays bloody hell.

Cheap, but they get you there.
Flown with Jetstar a few times now - Again in May. Like others have already said they are what they are, cheap ( $680 return Melb - BKK ) I'm one of the lucky one's, i can sleep on planes...don't eat/drink. Its a western chick thing i think, they've got good jobs, but that's never enough...i found the rudeness doesn't stop with the air hostess, the check-in chicks are the same. Its never ruined my trips though...enjoy mate.

We only have a two hour change between flights. That is ok! Time to stretch the legs, may be a drink and have a perve before the real stuff starts.
My Retained Firey was going to Doa for work. And yes some of my retained are well paid, lots of standy's up here.

i have flown star class and think it is worth extra $$ just for the extra space and have never had any whinging kids keeping you awake through the night plus qantas frequent flyer points are earned, use of lounge etc, plus 3 hour check in, for a 9 hour flight i like to be comfortable, having flown cattle class with jetstar previously i think it's worth paying extra (or getting upgraded from family at qantas) 555

I find the flights are the worst part of any holiday, nothing can brighten up the 9 hours or whatever of sitting in a plane(although i have probably done a lot more hours the last 2 years than most),so i use Jetstar flights direct out of Sydney to Phuket.Usually pay $1K Gold Coast>HKT,return.
The wait in airport terminals is agony so i like to fly as direct as possible.
Last time i did the SYD>HKT flight it actually got into Phuket 1 hour ahead of schedule,it landed at 19.05.
Apparently the usual west to east jetstream must have been inactive that day,so my pilot mate told me.
First time i have ever been early on any flight.
I usually have some cheese and crackers and some water on the way, sounds a bit boring i know, but the real holiday starts once you get there.

Jetstar is good, dont buy the food or video entertainment both are shite - eat alot before u go then tuck into thai food once your in tl, both ways always seemed to be on time with no delay, turn up at your leaving point 3 hours early and ask for the exit row. that'll gurantee you great seating.

hi Wolf,
I was thinking the same thing about the food, will give it a miss and eat before I get on the plane and take some chips and nuts with me to go with the beers.
I have to check in 3hrs before take off anyway as im taking a surfboard and
you have to get oversize luggage on early, so Im sure i should get a decent seat being that early.
3hrs at the airport, that should be fun I'll probaly go bankrupt buying beers at the airport bars.
Im getting excited.
