Phuket

I find transportation in Phuket somewhat frustrating being used to hop in the car and drive anywhere, anytime at home. I don't mind public transportation and if I want to go to Phuket town will hop on the bus and off I go. However, If there are 3-4 things I want to do around the island during the day/evening then it becomes more difficult. I don't really want to rent a car but could I suppose but was interested in possibly hiring a car & driver for a day (about 8 am - 8 pm). If that is possible what would it run (in baht) and what recommendations do you have? Thanks in advance.

1,000 bht a day, plus buy him food when you eat.
