I'm headed to phuket on Mon. and the weather forecast calls for thunderstorms
for the next ten days!!! I'm only going for 2weeks. Mabye someone can alieve
my fears. Lie if u must! Also, do people from this forum ever meet in
Thailand. I ask because I'm going with my father, and It might be nice to

Who can forecast the weather for 10 days. Even for 5 days is difficult to be correct and more a guess.

I like it overcast. It's cooler and you don't sunburn as easily. Its been spitting a little the last few days. If a storm comes in it's over in a couple of hours. Rain isn't an issue this time of year. You can always stay in your room with a loved one.
See me, another Bay Area guy down at the Mai Thai.

I have said that before and I do it again, weather forecasts online always looks more bad than in real. Even my weather station predicts rain and thunderstorms when we dont. Must be something special about Phuket as weather predictions is most of the time wrong and dont meet international formulas. We did have some rains the last few days thought, e.g. my 8th year anniversary party, before that no rain for weeks.

Agree that most of the online forecasts are too "negative".
But this one --- taken from an ACTUAL forecast on a hotel website last year --- was just a bit over the top. (Guess Fahrenheit and Celsius got confused somewhere along the way...)

For a short range forecast, 2-3 days, "windguru.cz" are fairly accurate but for predictions further ahead, like you say, they tend to err on the negative side.

This time of the year the rain moves from the right to the left.
In Monsoon season it moves from the left to the right.

FYI, that green red and yellow stuff on the left of the radar at the moment is heavy rain that went through Patong this afternoon.
It has rained a bit nearly every day day this week, including during Nickes 8th anniversary party.
