Robbed on the beach...
I met two girls on the beach - got chatting and then felt really sorry for them. I decided to show them a good time and took them to Scruffy Murpheys to drink and chat with my mate and this Thai wife.
Had a lovely time blah, blah. Back at the beach they buy me a beer and suggest a Thai vs England drinking match - I won, and then went out like a light  Woke up hours later 14,000 Baht worse off Older lady about 35 with star tatoo on wrist, wearing camoflage shorts - called herself Weiner, spoke really good English. Other one early 20's and spoke no English. Both from Chang Mai and they were hanging out by the Police station by the beach end of Bang La Rd. Avoid them!!! You will recognise them 'cos they have both probably bought diamond tiaras  Take care out there, Nic

sorry to hear of your misfortune nic,my mate has just returned from phuket,and was scammed out of £50-00 by another guy ,he came out with a hard luck story about losing his wallet with all his money in etc--etc, and was broke and hungry, and would pay him back in a couple of days,of course he did a runner!

I don't really care about the money as I was there for a month and figure this added GBP 5 to each day and taught me a REALLY good lesson. It wasn't so much a con as I was fed a load (I think) of date rape drugs in my beer. That stuff can kill you as they can't get the dose right but it must be very high.... In Pattaya a bunch of tourists died from these a couple of years ago. Pay a little (or a lot) extra and stick to girls from bars! The Thai police I spoke to said they could sort out almost anything if only I could tell them which bar I had met them at. By the way, the police were really cool and helpful. A lot wiser and looking forward to my next trip!!!

A few trips back I was on the beach one day and started chatting with a TG. All was going well, but when she asked me if I wanted to go swimming, I remembered back a few years when I was at a beach in Vietnam and one of the locals I was with had their clothes stolen while they were in the water.
Since I had just met her, I was not sure if I was being setup to lose my "shirt," and didn't want to leave my pack unattended. So want to do? For some reason I was actually thinking with my big head that day, and it occured to me that all I had to do was go back the hotel, rent a motorbike, and lock up my stuff in it. In the end there was no setup, but better safe then sorry when you're by youself.

i agree with you both, my friends always willing to help anyone in trouble, so he was an easy target i spose, he was with 2 other mates at the time ,but they didnt fall for the story,---,i could understand it if he had given £5 or 10 pounds, but £50_!!!the guy who scammed him didnt even know what the note was when handed it, as he wasnt english,(i wont mention his nationality---howdy___(ooops) and asked my mate "whats this?" when handed the note!ps nics story was well frightning though,bug*er that!

They were working girls selling blow jobs.
They gave the impression of being two ladies with good hearts down on their luck. That is why I tried to give them a really nice evening.... What I find bizarre is that I had a camera worth at least twice what they took that I still had when I woke up and my credit cards?????? So I guess they didn't hate me. I guess they must have hung round so no one else robbed me. Also I had 200 Baht and a full pack of smokes that I didn't have before I was drugged.... I don't even really feel that angry towards them as I guess they were desparate and figured I was rich beyond their wildest dreams (probably true). The only thing is that you can be killed by date rape drugs - which is why I wrote the warning.

My plan re hard luck story.....................
It seems a very common scam for some to say that theyve been robbed of all their money, and it would therefore be easy to dismiss all who say it as fraudsters. Having said that, what if you were travelling alone and it happened to you? Imagine Thailand with no money?!?!  My plan would be to say, `ok mate, I want to help if you are genuine, I`ll lend you X amount of money until you can get money wired over on deposit of your passport`. Problem comes though when they say the passport has been stolen as well.....................

I would natuarally be suspicious of any thai girl hanging around the beach day or night. Unless they are with a customer then there is no reason for them to be there, TG's hate the beach dont let them tell u otherwisw its a lie

i've been approached a couple of times by guys in the street with the line "do you speak english, sorry i've been robbed can you help me",to which i mutter some expletives in welsh which cofuses them for long enough to get away from the fecking parasite

I was just relating a story of a great experience, quite early in the morning on the beach (Where I wasn't robbed) which I thought was in line with the thread of "Being robbed on the beach!" Had a bloody fantastic time to be honest. It was quite a while ago, I'm a bit older and wiser now and perhaps loitering on the beach road at 7 am is not the best advice in the world. But hey! I was young, fun and full of ***! Half cut, able to handle myself and not a care in the world. Right at that particular moment in time, a BJ on the beach seemed just the ticket! Old Chap! No intention of raking up an old thread in mid thread (if that makes sense) I like threads, threads are good. The DOH! was for Cotambear who answered his own question with regard to having a passport stolen, it was meant as fun, as in Homer Simpson..........DOH! No offence meant Cotambear, sorry about that.Yes, I'm new, Yes, it's a brilliant Forum, I'm just trying to keep my bits real and a bit of fun, bit like me really!! Anyway, back to the thread: I woke up on the beach to find my kidneys being removed by these really pale indian looking blokes in white coats holding roses and smelling of wee. Luckily, I had put my kidney in a waterproof plastic container around my neck, so they took my 100 Baht 'flip flips' (I've got two left feet!) instead. I'll get my coat, my taxi's here! DOH! PS It's going to cost me a bloody fortune buying all these BM's a beer, better get saving then! Be good.
