What mobile phone comapany has the best deal for prepaid at the moment? Truemove site is in English and Thai, but 1 2 Call is Thai only (or I cant see the ENG button) Truemove is offering 200Bt for a Sim, includes 100 Bt of calls...seems OK, but I cant decipher 1 2 Call..are there others? Cheers boys

I use I 2 Call because it suits me as a regular (3 times a year) visitor to LoS. I keep the same phone number, which suits me. Every time I recharge I get another month of 'life' on the SIM. Maybe something else is cheaper but that is not my concern and I don't really think it makes much difference.

Thinking about this a bit more, cost is truely irrelevant. It's like you paying 1,500 baht for 1 girl during your trip rather than paying her 1,000 baht. More important is do you want to keep your number for future (soon) trips?

Thats strange...
Does its validity maybe depend on the value you recharge for?

I did recharge with 500 THB cards a few times...
Maybe thats what bumped up my validity...

That is the standard Nels.
1-2-Call does have promotional programs.
Used to be 1 year on 300 baht refills, but higher call rates.
When I was there in November the best program available was 3 months for 300 baht, but same call rate.
You'll have to call them at least 24-hours before your next refill to change to the promotional plan.

briofoz indicated he would consider 1 2 Call, but he couldn't find english instructions.
Do 1 2 Call Sim Cards and recharge kits come with english instructions?
Do they have a website summarizing instructions, rates, and service?
I'm considering them for my impending trip but I also need to confirm whether my phone is locked in to Telstra's network. Much more convenient to use my existing phone than carry a couple around. Then all I do is swap the sims to switch between my LOS and Aussie services.

if you need more comfort, just buy on ebay a double simcard phone, very cheap, 90 euro, you can plug both simcards in and both are working at the same time. very practicaly.
if you want a better designed phone, samsung now has a double simcard phone which has a lot of functions and also both simcards working at the same time.
regarding prepaid:
dtac has a very good english service and also english website.
they also have now edge dataservice which worked great the last time i used it (last year)

When making outbound calls and sms's on a duel sim phone, how do you select which carrier each call will utilise?

Hi CM,
it depends of the phone model,
with the cheap chines phones you have two send and receive buttons, so you can choose which simcard you want to use, with the samsung you have to choose once the main simcard which is used for outgoing phonecalls and sms, but you can change the main card with 4 clicks of buttons.
i prefer the chines phones, just search for CECT or dualsim.
most of the chinese phones are with touchscreen (which i dont like), but they have also some simple keypad phones.
Wolf.
