Crap you have bought in Thailand
I am forever buying stuff off the streets in Bangers and Phuket, most of it is crap but i continue to do so.
The 3 things that spring to mind are the following:
1, Fake Rolex in Phuket, needed a watch so bought this one, one day later while walking through the airport i heard something hit the floor, looked round to see my new Rolex submariner with date, on the deck with broken strap.
2, Scotland strip, washed it once and the badges fell off, but being scottish i decided to still wear it
3, Belt on sukhumvit yesterday, came back from Scotland yesterday and noticed i did not have any belt, so held my jeans up until i bought one on Suk road, had it on for a full hour before require a toilet break, went in open the belt and half of the buckle came off in my hand.
anybody else bought something they considered a bargain only to find out how crap it is later on???

Could have been worse, like going to the toilet and not being able to open your belt.
Ermmm, this remembers me of an old thread.

I bought a nice TAG watch in bangers which lasted about 36 hours before it died!!!
On the upside i bought some t-shirts in phuket in 2002 and i can honestly say that not one of them has shrunk.
Back in Phuket on Tuesday for 3 months so i expect there will be some more 'crap' buying 55555

RTG's... Waste of 6000 Baht (sorry, Mav, I couldn't resist.)
Generally, I don't buy that much in LOS. I've had dvd's that haven't worked but at 100 Baht, it was always going to be a gamble.
Today, I spent 200 Baht on a SD card reader. If it doesn't work then who cares.

I have had a few duff movies off Suk road, first time i got one, i could hear the background sound but not the person speaking, spent ages on the wires at the back of the TV/DVD player to see what was wrong (the porn movies i am not really sure if they had any sound)
As for the watches, if i buy an expensive one, everyone just assumes it is a fake due to living in Thailand, and the police in Scotland arrest me as they think i nicked it.

you know how many times i have to tell people it is fake
i think the ones with the leather wristbands tend to look more authentic

Of course Ive had the odd watch fall apart and a dvd not work. But like some others the majority of stuff still works/wearable now.
In fact my parents are always asking for t-shirts as they stuff I tend to buy in Patong's O-top, wears better than the stuff you buy here for 10-20 xs the price.
But I rarely bring stuff back now as I get pulled at customs nearly every trip........

Been really lucky with everything brought back just a couple of shirts that shrunk, one being Hells Bells T-shirt. Watches OK, and most of the dvd's, one that was overdubbed in Thai but once I ran it through some software and re-burned it no probs. I payed for photos on CD at Phantasea and got home and CD was blank.
It is more the taste-in-the @rse things I have been given as gifts which are crap. you would think there would be more thought especially as it was my money 555.
