amount of sponsorhsip
being a sponsor, i still do marvel at the amount of sponsorship and senseless spending some of my gf's friends get
i think i keep my gf rather ok, but just dont spend money on senseless things i send her 10k for apartment and incidentals. since i believe living in a better than average place, i feel that my gf does deserve that herself. so she lives in a brand new building that is relatively expensive for her are at 6k/mo all in i would say i give about 15-20k/mo, which keeps money in her pocket i also pay for her sons school, which is about 50k/yr and medical for both of them which is about 40k/yr but her friends in village have cars, new houses they dont live in and not to sound bad, but with the jobs that i know some of these guys have, i just cant imagine how they are willing to part with all that money again, to each's own, but i also feel you need to teach these girls some fiscal responsibility also

Latest BG I met got a free room, half of each lady drink (LD 160B Therefore 80B) Half the Bar Fine at 300 Baht, therefore 150 Baht. Her salary of 2K Baht per month had just been stopped because trade had dropped off. She relys now on LT customers.
Obviously she hasn't got a motorbike, uses her mates. No rent to pay, but shares the room with three other girls. She is clean, nicely turned out, smiles and good fun to be with. No hassle. Therefore, if I were to give her 2K Baht a week (8K Baht a month) I would quadruple her income. So yeah, 15-20K Baht a month + another 90K a year! Happy girl!

I guess the BG I mentioned uses the money on what she deems as 'essential' and gets by on what's she's got.
Saw one of the BG's from Beergarden at the ATM and she showed me, quite happily and proudly, her ATM slip with 13K and she told me she was saving for a down-payment on a motorbike and had been for a year. Yep, a quick 7K to top her up to 20K would have been easy. We have a saying in the UK that someone soon finds out "Which side thier bread is Buttered" - There are 'flash' spenders amongst the BG fraternity.............If they've got it to spend. So, IMHO, yes, 15-20K less education and medical cover payments is a healthy chunk of wonga!

There are sure to many flash spenders, one of my girls got a computer for 50k and lots of money for just few days with a customer. He will be back shortly thought and I guess he will have bigger plans for them and may be the reason for this.
One American will buy a guesthouse for another MTB girl for 15-20m baht next time he come back, after knowing her for just few weeks. He want a future with her but 15-20m in her name, she dont need him after that purchase, which may be a dangerous step. Hopefully it will end up happy.

From the many opinions and threads I've read on this subject, I'd say from 10 to 20 thousand baht a month seems to be the average.

Devils Advocate again! A couple or so more questions on sponsorship from moi! With a few potential answers! I dunno, just me! 55555555
1. Why not use the sponsorship money to be with the girl or get the girl to the sponsor? - Your Job? Her Job? Both? Your already married! 2. Why spend all that money on someone you may only see for 2-4 weeks a year? - Keeping your place in the Queue? Feelgood factor? It's your kid! 3. Are you happy that the money you send is being spent on what the person says it is being spent on? - i.e. Rent a 3K Baht place until the week you are due to arrive and take on the 8K place for a month! 4. Farang are living out here on less than some sponsors send some of the girls, yet they, the girls, are still in the bars - Are you understanding of that? - "It's just a Thai girl having a bit of fun with her money?" 5. At age 20-30 - She's not getting laid for 50 weeks of the year - Again, just me..............realistic? Trust or Lust! Interesting to hear some thoughts on some of the above, I couldn't sponsor a girl here and sleep soundly in Rochdale contented with a daily phone call and a couple of emails from her! Again, just me!

I guess I must be a Cheap Charlie. Mine gets about 12,000 pm when we are not together - about 6 months of the year. This is plenty for her to pay rent, live well, send to mum, save etc.

l think the amount of Sponsorship is not as important as the length of it.......l only see it as a temporary "Take Her Off the Market/Give Her Confidence that you are Serious" measure......You know 3-4 months after your first meeting, until you can get a Visa organised or spend more time with her to see if it's definetely what you want.
Once it drags out for months and years.........well that's somewhere l would never go. Still l guess it works for some people but those folk obviously need to be open minded. .

I suppose that any sponsorship would have to depend on what you can comfortably send and still be able to save for your own visits or to make arrangements for the girl to spend time in your own country.
I know that with a relatively weak Rand (SA Currency ) I would not be able to send more than 20K without it seriously denting my ability to save to visit LOS.

Sorry, had a bit to drink, but not buying the sponsorship bull. Hoping to introduce a few BM's to a popular lady tomollow who is on 60K + baht per month (hopefully she will get a few rounds in!) and I will have the happy ending! BTW the sponsors are.............British, American, Finnish and Canadian.
Trust, sex, other men all over her like her like a rash, that's just the 'Lurker!".............Bothers me in a big way, not so much now I have calmed down.......BUT that's day to day, never mind Month to Month. Mav............The glasses are Bollocks, not sure how much people are paying for them, but, unless they are less than a price of a lady drink! Yer being ripped off by yet another fly by night Australian Entrepeneuer!
