Phone Problems
I've been trying to call my GF in Phuket for the last 14 hours to no avail. I'm calling her cell phone in Phuket town from my cell phone in Melbourne. Very strange. Perhaps it is Songkran tying up the lines?
Anyone else have the same problem?

Phones are working normally in Phuket and around Thailand, I just called the missus who is somewhere North of Bangkok with the family for Songkran. Must be an international issue or just her phone got a soaking.

She says she was getting phone calls with nobody speaking and I couldn't get past the Australian phone system on my end...oh well it's good to know she is OK and her phone is working. I think it may have been related to Songkran and telecoms people perhaps not wanting to fix a problem and leaving it until today. I hear there are many Thais not working during Songkran. Thanks for the input guys.

I have been trying to ring Chiang Mai yesterday and today and have the same problem. It rings her end but she cannot hear me when she answers, then I get message saying that all lines are engaged.
I tried with my mobile again today, did not get through, so tried to ring her mobile from my land line and got through straight away. Yesterday got the same message on the mobile as well as landline SMS still worked ok all the time though.
