Hi guys I am a newbie that will be going to LOS for the first time in July, 2 days in Bangkok and then 5 days in Pattaya. I have learn't so much already from the forum, thanks to all.

Nana keeps poping up in threads but I can't quite work it out yet what is it a gogo? or a disco?, it's in Bangkok right? Anything special about it?

Be warned that girls in gogo bars normally have a higher bar fine than girls you find in a normal beer bar, or at disco.

Thanks have been reading a bit about Ladyboy's and must say this is about the only thing I am shitting myself about, being a newbie making the wrong selection especially after a few drinks.

"Nana" means a lot of things. Sukhumvit Soi 4 is sometimes called Soi Nana. A misnomer because in Thai 4 = see.

Mostly though, the term Nana refers to the Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP), which is already explained in a post link above. To some though, Nana means the Nana Hotel, which is directly across the street from the (NEP). To others it could be the Nana Hotel car park, which is a sight to see after 1-2AM every morning (sandwiched in between the Nana Hotel and the NEP). Still, to others, the term Nana might refer to the Nana Disco, which is in the lobby of the Nana Hotel and is notorious in it own right for grabbing a freelancer (400 baht entrance fee, with two drink coupons). Also a misnomer because it is really named Angel's Disco.

And... just to confuse you a little bit, Nana Station is the closest skytrain (or BTS) station to all this. Also referred to as Nana at times. Clear?
