Report on First Trip to Phuket
I recently returned from my first visit to LOS. I am suffering from the LOS blues so much that I have already booked the flights for my next visit in August.
I flew from Heathrow via Changi with Singapore and Silkair. Fare was OK (£592) service was excellent. The return to Heathrow was on the Airbus 380 and although I had a middle seat the seat was wider and there was more leg room than in any other economy seat I have had before.
I stayed at the Lawan Residence (which was excellent) and they had a limousine pick me up from the airport. All went smoothly and I arrived at there at about 9pm. Checked in, had a shower and headed out into the night.
I had all sorts of plans about what I was going to do having spent a lot of time reading these forums before I left. Once I started wandering around all these plans vanished.
I am wandering about Bangla at 10pm and it all still seems very quiet so I end up visiting Christins. I went for one of the older girls in the lowest price band as she seemed to have a bit more personality. Enjoyed the experience but doubt I will repeat it on future trip.
At this stage I must have been living on adrenaline, so off to MTB. Spent the rest of the night there and barfined one of the girls as they were closing up.
Next day completely exhausted from 24 hours travelling and the exertions of the previous evening so had a few beer in a number of beer bars and ago gos. At the end of the evening i headed home alone.
I spent the remaining evenings of my trip (5 days) with a girl from one of the ago gos. Not cheap but worth it in my view. We got on really well and I suppose I formed some emotional attachment, but it was only 5 days. I am not too sure whether I will seek her out when I return in August as I have unsuccessfully tried long distance relationships in the past.
I mostly ate at the Number 4 Seafood Restaurant in the alley at the end of Soi Tiger.
I have been reading comments on other threads about problems with touts. I don't whether I have a particularly thick skin but I did not find them a nuisance. I just smiled, was pleasant and kept walking if I wasn't interested.
I had quite a bit of dental work done at the Sea Smile Dental Clinic on Rathutit and the quality of the work was very good.

It would seem that a memorable trip was had by you and that it is the start of a long term affair with LOS...
All the best on future visits.

Enjoyed your report, those plans seem to go by the wayside pretty quickly.
