just enough

Why do I get the feeling that Thai people and Thailand are(is) so pragmatic:

The congestion and pollution in Bangkok is “just enough” to put me off it, but not enough to stop me from going there.

The sewage smell on Soi Bangla is “just enough” to get my attention and wretch, but not enough to stop me from having a good time. And when drunk, I never notice it.

Crime in Thailand, or at least what I read about in certain places, is “just enough” to get my attention, but not enough to make me feel uncomfortable about it.

My one room studio in Patong is “just enough” space to be liveable, but not small enough to make me want to live in a 2 bedroom duplex in Kathu for the same price, which would be “just far enough” from Patong and “just too dangerous enough” to get there that I might never go.

The chair I am sitting on typing this sh1t is “just big enough” to accommodate my bum.

My refrigerator has “just enough” room to fit what I need refrigerated.

Every Thai dish, if eaten alone, is “just enough” to take the hunger away, but never enough to stuff me.

The electricity, internet, and cable TV go down “just enough” to make it kind of irritating, but not enough to refuse or cancel their service.

The gym I go to has old and outdated equipment and it is poorly arranged given the space they have available, but it is “just enough” to get a good workout in.

When I park my motorbike, most of the time there seems to be “just enough” space to fit the bike in. If there is plenty of space when I do park it, then there is “just enough” room when I return to get it back out.

At least once every day while riding the motorbike, there is always a moment in time where there was “just enough” room on the road or "just enough" time to avoid some kind of collision.

I get fined for not wearing a helmet “just enough” to not mind paying it, but not enough to make me wear one.

The water pressure while taking a shower seems to be “just enough” .The bathtubs seem to be “just big enough” too.

The price for a round of golf is “just enough” to make it expensive amongst other activities available, but not expensive enough to make me give up the sticks.

Going to my favorite breakfast place, the waitresses there get my order right “just enough” to keep me coming back.

Anybody else have “just enough” experiences? Or, is it just me?

NOTE: Meant to be humorous…. but true (to me) observations…

Me to....did the nodding thing also as I read it....

The wife's next mistake with her latest cooking experiment will be "just enough" to give me cramps or discomfort and never enough for food poisoning or a stomach pump.

The financial support for the in-laws, and those now and again one-off extra costs are "just enough" for me to notice but never so much that I would reduce or refuse the $$$.

The clashes of Thai logic and common sense that define a marriage to a TG are "just enough" to make me tear my hair out but never enough to make me regret the path taken.

I totally agree.
The tuk tuk/motosai cartel with their gouging are `just enough` to turn me into a homicidal maniac.

The only reason I could imagine as of why you still would choose to live
in any county on a "just enough" bases is:

Because it's different, and fun? ;-)

Anything's better to be explored and experienced than staying at home
in case you get bored with that.
