Talking Muay

I was in Phuket in April for 2 wks- Cant go that far without learning some MT-Fantastic- but the heat was killing.
Cant remember any names but I went to the following:

I did a training session at a gym located on the road in/ out of patong. The gym was upstairs above a bar- and there was a banner outside saying "we train muay thai"-
The trainer was quite hardcore so maybe thats him?? There was this French guy there who was staying in the same building.

The other session I did was on the road between Karon and kata? near the shooting range- this was a nice residential camp- which has a website www.martialartsphuket.com.

The phuket stadium was building a training ring outside which I imagine is finished now.

Nicke i do kick boxing back here n farang land, the training is as hard as your prepared to push yourself, but it is much more fun than running on a tread mill every night ,
give it a go you might even like it ,
by the way talking of training hows the diving going ?

Muay Thai

If you only wanna get fit - do something else-

Muay is very tough and a full contact sport (although of course you can train techniques and just spar light)

-If you wanna learn unrivalled standup fighting skills (real self defence) or just love the art from watching fights - do it.

Alot of Thais find it very curious to see all these ferangs learning the art- I think to a thai it is a way the make money- or enjoy as entertainment-

his name is payap and as far as i know not phayat

he was a champion in the 80's and was a legend because of his terrible hard kicks.

when he is a trainer in phuket i hope to go there for my my holidays and train a week in that camp if possible

the last news i heard was from a guy from italia (mr baggio) who trained about 2 years ago in phuket with payap

this is a picture of him in his fight against the dutch fighter kaman

thanx for your help
