Dusit Laguna Resort And Hotel

Hi all,

Coming to Phuket in November with a hockey team that's playing a tourney in Chiang Mai. My teamates want to stay at DUSIT LAGUNA RESORT AND HOTEL. I'm wondering if anyone has any info on this place in terms of guest friendly, service, length of drive to patong beach.

Thanks,

Tim

forget it!

Beautiful hotel-location, but

1. far away from the action
2. Frawning on extra "guests"
3. Really nothing in the neighberhood, but...expensive hotels!!!

This question was asked recently, and to our surprise it is guest friendly. But you had best check this before you leave the hotel to come into Patong. It would probably be cheaper to open a room at the C&N then to travel back and forth.

Luguna is really nice but very expensive...Depends what you are looking for. It is a fairly self-contained...many people take their holiday there and barely leave the resort, they provide guests with daily activities ranging from cooking classes to windsurfing lessons and cater for all age groups, thus it is great for families...
It is not the place for rowdy night life - if that is what you are looking for....Patong is about half an hour away by tuk tuk for Luguna...

Hi Tim,

If you want to stay in a same class five star hotel I would recommend you the "Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort". With a tuk tuk or motorbike only five minutes away from the action, and a great five star resort. Much better than the Laguna area where the Dusit is situated... very boring!

Good luck! :-)

Depends!

Meridien doesn't have the same oriental feeling as Dusit Laguna! Beach is much nicer too!

If you come alone for the action, indeed better location!

But if the action, is a small part of the program, then Dusit is ok!

Thanks for all the info..

Yes, there is a rink in Chiang Mai!

Apparently hockey is alive and well up there!
