Going back to LOS in december.

Hi all again,

This will be my third trip to LOS. I am going there with my girlfriend this time around, and want to goto all the romantic parts of LOS. I am thinking of these three places. PhiPhi Island, Samui , and Phuket. What else can you guys sugguest for me? I do not want to spend much time in BKK since I was there for a good 2 weeks last time in August. I just can't stay away from LOS. I am thinking of making it a three week trip with my girlfriend. Any sugguestions would do...

Perhaps a trip on elephant back through the mountains up north , chiang mai & chiang rai , very easy to get to by plane from bangkok domestic airport and fairly cheap too.

i went to chiang mai this last time with my GF and it is really good place to go with your GF. The hotels are cheaper so you can stay in a really nice hotel. the restaurants are fantastic. i ate at an italian place that was as good as any place in new york or italy. i thought it was a really good place for a couple. i stayed at the sheraton in a suite, the room was huge!

have a couple of days in Khoncharbi, spend one day around the bridge across the river kwai arae but try to keep away from the tourist bit and walk in towards khoncharbi, some nice guest houses and little bars along the river(very romantic if its a moonlite night)second dayvisit the Ewain water falls they are just gorgeous and it will take all day to walk up to the top,(dont forget your swim wear its well worth it)
total cost works out
local bus from bkk south bus station to khoncharbi about 80bht each way(vip seat you have a young lady walk along handing out cold bottles of water)
room for the night in a guest house/air con about 400bht
meals etc you have anyway so no differnce there
not sure what the long tail boats will charge you to go up and down the river ,
bus fare to Ewian water falls(will take you direct to them as well)about 80 to 100 bht each way
entranceto waterfalls 200bht
I enjoyed it but each to their own but i would recomend it

Past august.. I went to chiang mai with my friends. I think I must've went somewhere wrong because I thought Chiang Mai really sucked!!! I think I went to DownTown Chiang Mai?? It was pretty unorganized.. because it was a last minute thing and we wanted to see Chiang Mai. So we booked like 2 days before the flight.. and then we had no hotels in mind. So we ended up staying in a hotel that we found a brouchure in the cab.. It was called Mr. Whiskey!!! Man.. what a dump that place was. it was disgusting!! the bed sheets etc.. looks like they were not washed since they built the hotel. I ended up spreading out my towel and curling up and sleeping on that.

We only spent like 2 days/1night there. Thank god!! but we ended up doing a treking which was good. I visited the night bizaare and that was pretty good. it rained that night, and i believe all the bars closed at 12am there. Which was pretty bad. I ended up in a bar called Mai Tum Mai bar.. (WHY NOT?). There were a couple of cuties there, that took us to a disco that was near by. Ended up dancing all night long til the place closed. But I know I didn't get to see everything in Chiang mai!!! Where was I?!?!
