Go to TAT office Deang Plaza Phuket City to get latest TAT map of Phuket - maybe one of the travel agents has copy - this has every (nearly) hotel on it. Pretty sure that is new road that goes steeply up the hill east of Nanai Rd - and thats why not marked on older maps.

Hi Jerry
I know this road well as one of my Thai friends lives in the hotel right next door with her farang b/f and i usually drive my motorbike up there to see them & have barbeques up there and so on.
Its a lovely viewpoint from up there and cheap rates too.
Take a look at this website for the hotel it has a map at the bottom or just click map on the right hand side.
http://www.phuketdir.com/hilltophotel/
Soi Sai Nam Yen is the road with the hospital on , if you head up there in the direction away from the beach , keep following the winding road and you will see a turning right which is Nanai rd . The map on the website i provided makes the road from Nanai rd to Hasip Pee rd look like just a short curve , keep following whis road as it is longer then it looks on the map and fairly winds left and right quite a bit , eventually you will come to quite a sharp bend going left , you will see a turn right on this bend which is a very steep hill upward indeed (requires 1st gear on motorbike for 2/3rds of the way up)
This is the road you are looking for , just after the very steep hill you will see a hotel which is a sort of turqouise/greeny/blue type colour about 100 metres on the right , your hotel is the one next door just past it.
From the direction of the airport the big hill you come down as you enter patong (the huge wide rd - on the map marked as road to phuket town)
Tell the drive to take the left that you see near the bottom , after a few winding roads you will see the this rd on the left.
It regularly has live entertainment on the rooftop , bands & Dj's and iv'e seen some very nice lookin thai chicks turn up to going to those parties as well.
Enjoy your stay

good "detailed " map of patong beach
Thats exactly what I want to produce the next couple of months! You have an example of what I have done at www.nossen.nu/Karta/turistkarta.html
I now want to do one over Patong Beach. Of course interactive with hotspots. And You should be able to search for ex a hotel or a bar, and get the exakt position on the map!
For that I need a very a very detailed "base-map". Digital is perfect but a printed one can work!
And when I say detailed, I don't mean the ones that can be found on the net now!

Exactly what I'm planning for!
I have been working with digital maps for 15 years! Now I have "retaired" from that, but I have the knowledge and the equipments and can do what I think is funny! I'm gonna spend three months in Patong and gahtering information, and then produce the best map ever for the area! Not very difficult, as I think most of the maps I've seen so far is not so good!
But I'm gonna need a lot of help BM:s with tips, advice and locations of interesting places!

That with your map is a great idea.
I’m sure everybody of the BM will help you.
You must only ask what you need and what for information especially

Bangkok is to BIG. For a map like this it's very important that it's accurate (of course). And even more important is that the links and the information is right, and those things change very fast!
If You have alook at my map at www.nossen.nu/Karta/turistkarta.html You can se at the bottom there is categories You can choose. If You choose something, ex restauranger, it will highlight some spots on the map! These spot show the location and it's also a link to the restaurant's own website!
Imagine that for Patong! But it's also a hell of a work to keep the map updated and thet's whay I need help from all of You, to check and test links! And also for adding new links with locations. I'll be there for three months and will try to get all important spots from the start!
But the first thing I need to find is a decent "base-map"!
Any suggestions!
Regards
Claes

Have to admit, there is still just plans!
Maybee I was to optimistic when I assumed that there has to bee a good map out there over Patong! I need something to start with!
I'll go down again in April and I do a new try to find something! If Not, I'll lower my ambitions and just do a map over Bangla!
Best regards

At last something is happening with my mapproject!
I never find a good base-map to start with. So when I was down in April, I had my laptop and a GPS with me! With that equipment it was possible to get wat I needed, a geographical right map over Patong!
Now comes the next step! To fill the map with information, and make it easy to use and understand!
And on that matter I need Your help! I have put out a "beta-map" at www.siammaps.com Go to the Patong section!
What I need is constructiv critics about the use of the map. That there is a lot of things missing, I already know (that will be my work next winter, to fill it with information!)
Thanks in advance!

Great work Sunem, first time I see an accurate map of Patong and the roads, most maps are "not to scale".
This can be a great resource for accurate maps.
