Post LOS Blues is a b*tch, but at least not fatal, so far as I know.
America is in most areas such a cultural wasteland. The whole election thing going on now just highlights the absurdity of our situation here.
In LOS, not only is there sex and companionship readily available. but when you go around and look into the faces of people, there are more smiles, and not just the phony ones. People there know better the importance of having some fun in life. Here in California everyone is in a hurry, rushing to get ahead of the next person, so that they can maybe make more money to pay even more for crappy houses, and SUVs(just bought a new one myself, I am not immune to the pressures). You would never even know that there is a war going on and fine young men are dying, leaving mothers, sisters, fathers crying, and wives and children with a life of hardship, not that anyone seems to care and the government does nothing to help them.
I'm about as happy as I can be under the circumstances in this stressed out environment and ignoring the bloodshed just like most every one else. Reading and responding to posts here help me maintain my sanity. I f*cked two women last weekend. It was good to keep in practice, but in some ways hardly worth the bother, and so now on Friday night I am here, and then go to the gym. Maybe I'll stop for a beer onthe way home.
Every once in a while though, I think back wistfully to the last week I spent in LOS. Well, I usually have a point to make but now I'm just rambling!!
Hang in there, Finneus!! The worst will soon pass, and what passes for normal shall rule your life again.
P.S. Have you ever read "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?" How about "Leaving Las Vegas." Great stories about our wonderful American culture.
