kamala?
hey guys
First id like to say that i looked on the search to see info on kamala, so IJ doesnt get snippy with me  . i was wondering if anybody knows how the nightlife is in kamala, if there are any beer bars like the sois in patong where you can meet girls. also, i was wondering how nice the bech is?

Don't quote me but i think Kamala is probably very quiet and family orientated , not sure if they have beer bars for bg action either but i doubt it.

Kamala start to feel the Phuket changes too!
When i stayed there 6 years ago, no nightlife at all, and almos no hotels! I have heard there been some new hotels build now, and that there 2 bars with rather young ladies now! Beware, Kamala, is a...moslim village! This could mean that there is less toleration towards nightlife!

Kamala is a nice place. And yes there are beer-bars ( 20-30 ) but not so sexy ladies as in Patong. The beach is much better than Patong. I always stay in Kamala for the beach-life. In the nighttime I go to Patong, you know why

my thoughts on the kamala nightlife is i have a lt tg and id like to roam around near where i live on nights im not with here. figure less of a chance of gettign into trouble by going hunting in other beach areas

Hi Marc,
I know Kamala a lot as I have been there 4 times and I have friends staying there right now. It is a quiet place with a nice beach, not far away from Patong (200 BTH/thuk tuk and close Laem Sing Beach which is a little quiet and beautiful beach - 100 BTH/thik tuk) There are some bars, maybe 5 or 6 in the village, close Benjamin Resort, and some others on the main road to Patong (I can suggest you Beergarden with a wonderful bbq every saturday night for only 100 BTH and a soooo nice staff). But as it is a little village, if you want to butterfly, everybody will know what you do, maybe it is easier in Patong where you will find a bar every 10 meters. I like to stay in Kamala for the beach, I have had a BG/GF there but I will never do that again I think, and Patong is the best place for nightlife. All depends on what you want to do. If you come in high season, Kamala is OK but from May to November, it is dead. If you want to know more, please feel free to ask me.

well considering in july i went with a girl i met at tai pan and she ended up working in the bar next to the bar my gf use to work at i figure its safer to do my butterflying in karon/kamala. plus i want to stay in those other areas because it is quieter and nicer and id go hang out in patong.

Another alternative is Karon/Kata!
I stay in Karon many bars too and just a trip over the hill with the bike to Patong! If you have a sweetheart then Kamala IS fine, but Karon is more convenient to go to Kata, Phuket and South beaches! Also closer to the Green Pub, and my favorite liquor store!
