It's a done deal...Los in December!

Bought my ticket today...coming back to the land of smiles in December. C&N wants 1500 bht a night...ouch. Expat was 1400. Orchid offered 1280 but apparantly I won't be able to sleep due to constuction. Has anyone had luck finding anything under 1000? 1500 is double what I paid last March.

Can't wait to be back in paradise!!!

Apart from the fact that you pay peak high season prices at Xmas time , you also pay for the locaton.

I think you will get cheaper prices for hotels in locations further away from the action like Soi Nanai but you have to weigh that up and ask yourself if you would rather pay more and have the benefits of being close to the action.

I think the price C&N quoted is not too unfair considering the location , other bm's will get a cheaper rate as they are long time customers of that hotel , bear that in mind. When you stay with them you can ask them if you can get discounts in the future if you are a returning loyal customer.

Or ''repeat offender'' as i like to call it..

similar accomodation to what i use nowadays. I rent a nice bungalow down at nai harn for 600 baht per night , same price all year round. I used to stay at C & N in patong , but gradually moved farther and farther away from patong as the years passed , first at phuket palace on the outskirts of patong , then central waterfront apartments in karon , since i now have a business (bakery) and in the process of building a house in the area (nai harn) it is more convenient to stay there on my visits , i also prefer the extra space that the bungalow offers and that i can store all my gear there between trips

1500 baht C&N

Hotels in Canada cost the same, but I bit the bullet and decided to stay in a familiar place at 1500 a night plus free airport transfer. I figure the transfer evens out the hotels in the 1300 range as I am only going to stay for 5 days. Thinking of Hua Hin and pattaya as well this time. Just thought I would update the hotel situation.

Can't wait!

Robio
