pattaya anyone?
ive been thinking about checking out pattaya. anyone,like IJ or anyone else that will be around Patong in in dec-jan want to take a side trip up there for 3-4 dyas. also, is it easy to get to from phuket? also, for you europe guys, what is crimbo? is it your way to say christmas or is it soemthing different with dfferent traditions?

chrimbo =CHRIstMas/BOxingday!---hi marc ill be in phuket during dec and will be going to pattaya sometime during that time,the quickest way to get there is to fly back to bankok then taxi to pattaya which takes about 2 hours on the toll road.im staying in the expat hotel near bangla road and wil;l be frequenting the mai-tai bar hoping to hook up with some other board members, hope to meet u there !cheers (happy chrimbo, btw!)

Marc, I DO NOT like Pattaya!
First Phuket is much nicer, every beach a different athmosphere! For the girl, you can find enough in Phuket! I am going to explore Koh lanta next time! I will take a Bg with me, so I will not get bored! Why bother with Pattaya, when it is the same as Patong, but less! I will also go to visit ayuttaya next time and in Bangkok Edenclub! In February, I will take a plane from Phuket to Kuala Lumpur, to visit that city, and then a few days Langkawi! Will be quiet a different trip, because my wife will be traveling with me then! So I don't need BG's then! After that we will go back to Phuket, where the kids will have arrived by then. We will stay at the Laguna so THEY can have some fun! Next winter, same time, my turn again! In our family EVERYBODY is entiteled to have fun!  Although I have a new businees now I don't work and will be hitting the Greek islands in June! Last edited by tintin : 12-09-2004 at 14:21.

Why bother with Pattaya, when it is the same as Patong, but less! Because Pattaya is the undisputed king of heavy weights for nightime action. The utlimate sexual disneyland , and the lads will no doubt have a great time there as i will in Nov. When you say pattaya is less than patong ..in what way ? , It has more beer bars and Agogo's than any other los destination. So what do you mean exactly ??

Well first the place is less pretty then Phuket! More girls etc, possible, but what do you have, when you have more then everything?
You allready have everything in Phuket, go-go, bars as many girls as you can handle. Beside the tg's, there is much more to do in Phuket, so by less I don't mean the girls, but the beauty and possibility of the site!

''I DO NOT LIKE THE PLACE'' !!! does not mean other bm's here won't enjoy it. I like to make the most of the fun to be had in los and i'm happy to take Pattaya as i find it and for what it is. I am safe in the knowledge that i am able to adapt to whatever lies in front of me and make the most of what i have. You , on the other hand seem highly picky on a great many of subjects. If you don't like something , then don't do it , no need to make negative comments as other bm's here can make their own minds up.

Pattaya may not appeal to some , while others may like it.
In my opinion the one of the big differences of pattaya is the go-go bar scene. Completely different to BKK and phuket (which is very small fry). Pattaya go-gos seem to play by their own set of rules if you know what i mean. A night at a go-go in pattaya and you may never bother stepping foot in one in Phuket/Bangkok. Apart from this, i find the drinking to be alot cheaper in pattaya. Many bars do 8-12 hour "happy hours" with drinks half the price of Phuket. There is so many bars and go gos, there is a lot of competition which means better deals for the punters... Remember the last time a beer bar in phuket ran any sort of promotion to entice customers? yeah me neither. Then there are the soapies / MP's. Pattaya wins again. Overall i will always come back to patong though because it is such a special place. Just thought id say that pattaya is a great place also, but for different reasons.

This for me , will bring more balance to my next tour and i will see the wild side & then the nice chilled out atmosphere of Patong..+ the beaches. To be honest with you , my last tour i just headed staright for patong and i find it boring to stay in the one place for 3 weeks. 7 weeks and counting ...I can't wait

Further I have to admit, also for the choice, that I am not the regular bm. I hate noisy, crazy places! I like a small bar, with nice girls to chose from and go to that bar regulary, like the one I am going in Karon. Even stronger last time of 17 nights I only went 3 or 4, and not always in the bar ,to Patong. I did stay very late in some bars in Karon, with an afterparty at my place! All this doesn't mean I frawn upon guys who think different. It's all about having fun and each has to make up what is the best for him

Me to BB, 2-3 weeks straight in Phuket is about my limit too before i start getting a little restless.
Pattaya makes a nice break. Getting around on the baht buses are a joy (cheap and easy). They have a BIG C and a cinema complex. Currently in patong this is not really possible unless you travel a fair distance, however this will change soon. Overall i found in the beer bars the quantity of girls to be greater, but i though there were more stunners in phuket. I remember walking around at night thinking i was finding it hard to find someone that grabbed my eye. However if i was in phuket i usually have my eyes bugging out and jaw gaping open. Did i say how good the go-gos were? They have real shows, and i still recall seeing the most beautiful thai woman i have EVER seen, at Living Dolls Showcase. Just Wow. It was my first trip to pattaya this year after 6 to phuket. Im not a heavy duty mongerer, and the first few days in pattaya i thought i wasnt going to like it, but at the end of 7 days, i didnt want to leave (just yet anyway). Also i find i am recognised by alot of people in phuket, so it was nice to go somewhere and butterfly without worrying about upsetting the LT GF. However i was a little freaked out when i went out on my 2nd ever night in pattaya. The day before id spent the afternoon at the movies with a girl. This 2nd night i walked into a random bar, sat down, and the girl says. "I see u yesterday at movies with another girl...." Well i thought i was unknown but after 1 day in the place i was already caught out

Yes!
The short answer is yes!
I will be around through Dec and Jan, and will probably make a few side trips to pattaya, so once i meet up with a few BM's at Mai Thai we can see if anyone is interested and maybe organise something. But i wouldnt be organising something until i am already there.
