Odd restaurant
I went to Hat Yai for my visa run and saw a restaurant with a big pool in the middle with big shrimps and lot of people fishing.
It was open 24hrs a day and looked like many people went there to eat or drink when the other bars or restaurants were closed or enjoyed fishing.

There's something like that on the way out of Patong; spent a wonderful afternoon there, drinking beer and fishing for shrimps - then ate them - wonderful

I would call it in the centre, not in main downtown thought. Thats why it looked so funny, inside a buidling along other shops. I have seen one fishing park in Patong and a restaurant in Kathu with fishing possibilities in a small sea.
I've also heard about shrimp fishing from the girls in the bar but I dont know where they go.

The place Jonas talks about is a quit small place, just a small pool and the owner throws a bucket of shrimps in it, and then you start fishing. Ok if you just want to relax and have a beer, but not if you are hungry...
This place (no. 1.) is located just by the road up to the Hill Top where Urtheman stays. 100bath/hour
There is another place (no. 2.) located on a small road away from Phisit Karani Road.If you comes down the hill, turn left on Phisit Karani Road. after 50m it turns left, but go straight and you will see it on the left after 20m. They have fish, shrimps and lobster..i think it costs between 100-350bath/hour depending what you fishing.
There is a big lake on the way to Phuket Town too, where you can fish if you want. Dont know any prices though.

Been fishing only once in my life, but caught my first one in less than 10 minutes.
