Marriott?

As I will be in February coming accompagnied, I was thinking of spending the first days in the Mariot.

Priceline could have this for 50 dollar a night!

I know that it is remoted, but for a romantic time, why not!

Only thing that i wonder, is there ANY cheap local restaurant around?

I don't want to spend fortunes in a hotel-restaurant!

Anyone been there?

Had lunch there once, didn't see any local restaurants nearby on the way but I'm not sure.

Thank you!

Then I don't think we will go for it! Try to find something else! Priceline doesn't have so many hotels in the Laguna area or even in phuket!

Noop, you will have to add the tax! Still a good price anyway! But a drink, food and it will get much more expensive!

Prices

Sure, but still, the prices will be comparable to European prices. So I would think it over since the place is beautiful. Just far from everything, but perfect for a few romantic days...

Yes but maybe to remoted! See what i can find in Kaaron/Kata, as I know plenty of eateries over there and very, very good ones!

After the first days we will go to Kuala Lumpur 2 days and 4-5 days Langkawi and then back to Phuket to get the girls from the airport and stay at the Laguna-complex, much fun for kids, kidsclub for a week, before flying home!

Had a few days in the Mariott earlier this year - fantastic, totally 5 star hotel but little/nothing to do in the area.
There is a restaurant/shack nearby but not fancy eating, good for a lunch and a few beers.
Hotel restaurant prices are very high but acceptable if you're used to european pricing.
I would stay there again but only for a few days before moving on to somewhere more lively.
