Yes they have, but dont buy it in Patong. Go to one of the big malls, Lotus,Bic C or to Phuket Town. Patong is to expensive..

Yes, Patong is more expensive than the shops in Phuket City, e.g. Big C. You will have no problem to find memory cards.

And for those of you coming through Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is also very cheap for this kind of stuff.

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the higher prices on consumer electronics in Thailand? Is it because they have their own competing manufacturers? Seems to me it just hurts their businesses?

Also the prices of SD and other memory cards are dropping rapidly this month, at least here in the states you can get some high end 1 GB CF cards like the Sandisk Ultra II for around $90 or lower speed 512 MB cards for around $35-$40. The supply has caught up with the demand it seems and we are finally catching the break in price. I'm not sure if these drops have hit your area yet, but I'm sure they will in the next few months. Its pretty frustrating puchasing one of these puppies and then 2 months later finding it for less than 1/2 the price, like I just did with my Viking 512 MB CF!!!

Malaysia and Singapore are cheaper than Thailand but often when I compare prices between Sweden and Thailand I get better deals here. E.g. Nikon D70 digital camera was about 12,500 baht cheaper here than in Sweden and now the Thai price is even cheaper. Same for my MiniDV video camera.

Malaysia dont have taxes on consumer electronics like Sweden have. Thailand have taxes thought but still cheaper than Sweden.

Thanks for the help. I will go to Phuket Town to take a look when I come next time ( Feb 05 ) When my memorycard is full, can I have my pics to a CD in the fotolabs ? If so, is that expensive ?

No problems,go in to a photo shop and leave your memorycard for some ours and they burn down your pics on a CD .
Normally price 200 bath /CD .....not so expensive ...
