Vegetarian Festival

What can one expect during the Vegetarian Festival in Phuket? Are bars gonna open with the same hours and is there gonna be tons of people hanging around on the street? Anything special to take note?

correct me if im wrong but isnt that the one where they insert knifes ,swords and what ever into their faces and fast for days?
if im right didnt a certain ex mtb lady do it once ?not mentioning names but her name you could write with.

The one and only place for Vegetarian festival is Phuket City, the bars in Patong is open as normal. What is different is a lot more people wear white clothes and vegetarian food is offer for sale everywhere.
