I do nOT agree, everybody his opinion!

First in Karin/Kata, different bg's area

1. At the beach- road at "Karon" center many bars

2. Just after the hill coming from Patong, the road to Phuket from Karon! Big area here, with loudy places, and also more intimate ones, where you can have a chat and a quiet drink!

3. Further on this road, here and there a isolated bar, but two great bars, where I saw many pretty girls at the intersection to go to Kata.

4. Leaving kata on the beach-road direction club Med, there also a smaller center! Did not like this place much though! Not such a pretty girls and did not like the athmosphere but...had a drink with a very nice girl!

Now Karon, doesn't have such a bad location at all!

Karon beach is much quieter then Patong, I even go in the middle of Kata -beach, not even 10 minutes, wich is paradise!

You want some more action? Did not find the girl of your taste? Then with the bike Patong is not even 20 minutes away! Ok if you want to really party and have a lot of action day and night I agree, patong is better!

Maybe I am getting old, but I don't need this fuss all the time! If I have a girl from Paton, wich stays several days, I go down, eat something, have a drink.

Next time I will do this, day one!!!

Get a shower at the house I rent. Take the bike to the store nearby, for some water, coke and beer!

Then drive to Patong to walk around and see if I get a girl, I got one in mind!
If not a real stunner, go back to Karon, get one of the girls I know there for 1 night.

Till the moment I got a real 10, I keep her longer with me, and prefer to have some drinks in a quiet bar in Karon (depends of the people I meet, but got a regular one over there).

Hope this helps to make your choice!

hi jimmy

the princess looks a very nice hotel, the problem is ,high quality hotels are not usually willing to let you take a lady to your room ,they levy a charge ,sometimes 1000bht per night! (thats what happened to me in karon! )the best thing to do, is email them and ask what their joiner policy is ,--if they say it is ok to bring a girl back to your room, at no extra charge, print the message off and take it with you as proof--alternatively, rent an apartment or bungalow near karon centre , AS WELL, as your hotel, there are some nice rooms above the restuarants and shops ,you could do this when you get there.,rather than trying to book it on the computer ---- good luck jimmy, if you want to know anything more just ask!

why not just read threads regarding hotels/joiner fees etc,,plenty bms offering good advice,,these are guys that have been hoildaying/resident on the island for a long time,,,ive never had any bad experiences following suggestions from other members,,would never entertain hotel that charges joiners,,there are plenty of medium priced hotels that will be glad of your business,,and more importantly look after you hoping that one day you will return,,

Does it not matter that my room reservation is for 2.
If I come back at nite with BG she is my guest?
When I check in and hotel ask were is other person I tell them my

unfortunately not jimmy d,even though you've payed for a room for 2 they still levy a "joiner fee"as they call it, this is to deter guys from bringing bar girls back to their "posh hotel"and possibly upsetting their other"posh" customers with their presence,(when i payed a joiner fee to the hotel i stayed at in karon, all the marry ed men looked real jealous,at my gorgeous Thai lady with her perfect body and beauty!!)------- when you book in with a b/girl the hotel will require their i.d--at reception this is a good thing in a way as it protects you from theft

good advice

Good advice here from andy50. It might seem like not much now. But when you are standing there in reception amongst your felllow farang couples, and families, and the hotel is doing its best to make you and your girlfriend feel uncomfortable.... well you get the picture.

Even the joiner fee, i understand why they charge it, they want to keep their hotel looking respectable. Its the fee that just annoys me! ... its giving them money for nothing ! But also they way they can treat you and your guest that is the worst.

Do you self a massive favour. Book yourself in a patong based hotel like C&N, Neptuna, Stoney monday etc etc for a week for less than 1000 baht a night at this time of year.
You will feel more comfortable and have no problems taking a girl back there, and you will have a hotel in patong and karon !
