Do you want good accomodation? Try here
Hi All,
My first night in Patong was excellent. Met up with lots of friends.
One of them, Robert from Sweden, has a Hotel.
If you need accomodation, then here are the details.
The location is excellent. He is situated next to the Boots Pharmacy on the beach road. His hotel is right on the beach front (only 5 metres away!!!).
It is about 30 metres from the bottom of Bangla Road.
The name of the hotel is the Swedish Victoria.
He has available at the moment, one very big room (it could sleep 4 people no problem), en-suite with a huge bathroom for 1,500 baht per night.
He also has one normal size room with all the normal things (air con, tv, fridge etc). Price of 1,000 per night
There is a bar and restaurant, and it is an ideal location if you like the beach and Bangla Road.
If you need more info, then put up a posting. I will put his telephone number up very soon.
Dirty Mike

Many guesthouses are still offering cheap rooms, there are many new hotels/guesthouses so I guess the competition between them is very hard these days.
One of my friends are currently paying about 700 baht/night for a room located at soi Sansabai.
But it's good, there is no reason for hotels to overcharge their customers during peak season, some hotels almost triple their prices.

Thanks for your info.

Jsd,
I think the easiest way is just to come here and ask around, the growing number of small guesthouses are usually not present on internet or online booking services.

Depends what you are looking for Gerry
Hi Gerry,
You are perfectly correct. The website info is not up to date. I did not put it on.
I know its not the Hilton. Far from it. But, was I wrong when I said it was close to the beach and Bangla Road?
The rooms are clean and adequate (new owner)
As I speak the place is full. Someone has booked for 6 weeks.
What was it you didnt like?

Mike,
Maybe the new owner is taking better care of the place (Victoria)
we call "Faulty Towers"
When we stayed there last year, I changed room three times. Because the toilett did not work in the first room and
the A/C did not work in the second room.
My friend changed room once too, because the bed broke down!
The cleaning was very poor. The place needs to be cleaned up
with new furnitures etc. to survive.
Compared to C&N, Victoria is far to expensive even if it's down at
the beach.
"Expat" also has good rooms and a nice pool. Not too expensive.

I agree with Gerry but maybe Victoria are better this days.
Same for me when i was there last time. Toilett not work.
And every morning they had a crazy bird some scream all time.
And to much noice there to in the Mornings
Try C&N,much better and the price are real good there to,
Hope to meet someone from here in Feb next year
