Net Cafe Rate

The Internet Cafe rate at C&N is 2 bath per min , 100 bath per hour.
It cost me at least 100 bath everyday to online, enough to buy me a
Heineken.

Any place got a better rate ?

I think most Internet shop that are away from the busy area, i.e. around Bangla Road costs 1 baht/min or 50 baht/hour.

Free Internet Access

Try the B2S bookshop in Central Festival Mall - free access, if you can get to a computer through teh crowds of kids.
Also free at Club Rio, downstairs from Rock Hard at the end of Soi Bangla.
In Phuket town, the internet cafes charge between 10 and 30 Baht an Hour.. But not really helpful if you are in Patong!

Don't mean to be rude Hunter but many of your recents posts are asking how to save money all the time, I understand that some people may be on a tighter budget but honestly you are on holiday and there to enjoy yourself.

Go out, spend money and have fun....before you know it the holiday will be over.

Small amounts of money...

but nonetheless its money saved.
For example i wouldnt travel half way across town to find a net cafe which was 60 baht per hour VS 100 baht an hour..

However if i found a place 1 minute away that was alot cheaper , of course i will use it. Its simple good shopping, and i believe if if you are not going out of your way to save the money, but just choosing somewhere also nearby for a better price it is smart shopping.

There is a good net cafe just inside the Royal Paradise entrance, 1 baht per min, called Lionnet i think..

Any cheaper than that you will need to go to nanai, where it is 30-40 baht per hour, but the machines are old and slow connection. unless you are staying in nanai there is no point.

So, you would travel half way across town to find a cafe which charges 60 baht per hour as opposed to the one next door at 100 baht per hour?

Unless you are walking the motorbike taxi (cheapest form of transport) would cost you 20 baht there and 20 baht back.
Thats 20 + 20 + 60 = 100 baht....seems pointless to me ?

BB if you read what i said "For example i wouldnt travel half way across town to find a net cafe which was 60 baht per hour VS 100 baht an hour.."

I am saying that if the place is just around the corner, i would consider it worthwhile to use the cheaper net cafe even though the saving is miniscule.

Smart Shopping that's what i mean.
Like some BM say, why pay 3000 bath LT instead of 1000-15000 bath

My country net cafe charge half the price for online, that's why i think it is
expensive

**Not all BM are from rich country**

Understand your point on smart shopping , agreed we all need to buy wisely and not just waste our hard earned cash away.

The point i was making regardless of which country you are from is simply that if you can afford to get on a plane to los in the 1st place why quibble over net rates of 1 or 2 baht per min ?
