Phuket

First let me say, I'm a new member and am thoroughly enjoying this forum. I leave California Nov 23 for Bkk and them Phuket. It's my first trip to Asia. I am a semi-pro photographer and I was curious about the attitudes towards cameras in the bars. My camera is NOT inconspicuous, and I love to use it. ( I should have some great pics to post when I get back ) Will I get any flack for it?

Usually bars are fine about photos, but in go-go's and discos you are usually not allowed to take a camera in

Yes, espacially in Bangok, if they see a camera in a go-go, you can get in trouble!

The girls you go out, don't mind generally to pose. In Phuket though, they will not in general like "naked" ones, but sometimes if the girl get a little extra this might be possible!

In Pattaya, the girls seem more willing for those kind of pictures!

Yes, but if the girl is so willing, a little extra will not hurt them!

one word of warning if you take a picture of a L.B no matter where they are they do like a form of payment,of at least a 100 bht each if i remember right,unless your a Japenesse tourist then they will try and sting you for a lot more.

Good advice, this should be included in the newbie faq.

This is a common mistake by newbies and hear about it often.

Inside any gogo, doesnt matter where it is located, dont take any photos, you are only asking for BIG problems. Inside Playschool, we normally let you take a picture or two, if you ask first and we can set things up for you.

yes in april on mikes ladyboy tour i remember getting some lb all over me,wwe started to move on and she kept following me,in the end me and mike was in the toilet having a piss and she was behind me demanding money,i said what for until mike told me it was the done thing to slip them 100 baht.pretty much worth it when you getting them to get the jugs out and pretty much abuse them and take the mickey.

OK Steve,
I'll be coming by Playskool, and I'll be sure to ask nicely for using the camera. I also bring a portable printer with me when I travel, so maybe offering copies will make the girls more cooperative.

Tuk is still with us, but Five has been gone for some time now

So Five has gone, probably to Farangland! Good Luck for her!
The Doll, Tukta is still there then I will see her in April next year, maybe if I buy her 100 baht worth of fried grasshoppers, she will go with me for long time this time! Last year I just bought for 20 baht maybe not enough to bribe her!

Not very likely that that would make the girls more receptive. And when I say we normally allow photos, I mean 1 or 2 only.

I wouldnt call her stubborn, she is just setting the terms of the transaction and making them known up front.
