Steady on SuRFeRGiRL.You must be mighty pi$$ed off to get mail like that so close to your holiday.
The thing is,when you booked, did you pay a deposit or the full amount, did you print off a copy of the booking. If you did you have it in print ,the agreed price, and the hotel is trying to put up the rate, email them and give them hell.Tell them they had better honour your booking at the agreed price or you will complain to the website taking the booking.
If its the website increasing the price, check out the price for your hotel directly and even ask for a quote.
Hopefully one of the members living in Patong can help you somehow.
Good Luck

Live chat
That website has a live chat facility so you are able to speak to an agent 24/7
http://www.precisionreservations.com...ontact_us.aspx
Maybe you have spoken to them all ready and that has been no help if that is the case give latestays.com a try they offer and very reliable and efficient service had no problems with them.

Wich hotel SG? If they have agreed a rate, they should stick to it!
Why don't you do the same thing as I and rent a local house! My rate has gone up too, but hey 600 bath a day is fair with kitchen, seperate bedroom, tv and dvd player!

surf girl
had a bad day at work.
do not worry about booking a room, just take taxi from airport to C& N hotel in patong and book for one night then see if they will give you a deal.
there's loads of hotel aroung patong, and the rates vary.
you can go into the hotel and ask to look at the rooms to see if there clean ect and when you find one you like stay there.
your have a great time

Yes that is a good idea! I am normally in Phuket (but karon or Kata) from the 13 th on till 28.
If the bridge is not comfortable, you can always spend a night if youn don't mind banging me a tirak in the bedroom

BTW, as I am earlier, if you don't mind to stay in Karon or Kata, I can always ask if there is a house for you!
I know a lady that rents houses in Kata and also chairs on the beach!
600 bath is a good price and you have all your privacy!
if you are interested, just let me know, say what period you will need it!
There is still a chance of course that I can't leave! I am still having ups, but very deep downs, so my trip is not 100 % sure! But I will do everything to go!

"3 days of work, 7 days of university, ...ah....i will be there soon..."
Hi SG,
Don worry a thing about hotels and rooms and rates. I just back from there an hour ago and the situation there is still quiet re hotels vacancies. Sign boards are still up offering rooms near the action for abt 600 baht.
Its officially high season now and in practise all hotels go back to normal price and stop their 50% discount for low season. But the weather (climate and political) has caused a slowdown in tourist arrivals and you will benefit from choosing the hotel that you like on a walkin basis. But if u do fear a bridge sleep first nite, then maybe u book a first nite and the hunt around for nite 2.
Enjoy yrself and drop by Mai Thai for instant help if needed, but after 9 p.m. LOL.

Good advice.
That's what I usually do. I have never booked a room prior to arrival on any of my trips, being high, peak or low season. If C&N don't have a room just get in a tuk tuk and drive around until you find a room to your liking. The downside is it can be a real drag if you arrive at night and are seriously jetlagged. None the less, you'll always find a room.
See ya in Maithai 30.november.

i am looking into renting an apartment for a month while looking for exactly what i want for long term. i think if you are staying for at least a month, it is much cheaper. the apartment i might rent is beautiful with a pool and it half the price for a month than getiing a hotel for just 3 weeks!
