Smile Visiting Australia

Even though I didn't get to do all the bar drinking I had planned I still had a wonderful time in Phuket during October/November. I can't wait for my next visit next year.
However, I did strengthen a friendship I have with a Thai family. Their daughter and my children got on extremely well, even though she didn't speak English and my children don't speak Thai. We went to their home for dinner on a few occasions and we all got on like a house on fire.
We would love for them to come to Australia and visit us for a few month. My question (you knew there was one coming) is about airfares for the family. Does anyone have experience with this? Is it cheaper to get return airfares purchased in Phuket to fly them out here or is it better for me to purchase the tickets in Australia for them?
He is a tuk tuk driver and his wife works as a cleaner in a Hotel. I would imagine they wouldn't earn a great deal and we are happy to pay their airfares here. I would appreciate any information or comments from other BM's.
By the way, he was a great guide too if anyone wants his mobile number.
Thanks guys

I know in general ari fairs are cheaper in Thailand for the same flights v Europe and UK..

Have you considered the visa issues to bringing a whole family over ???

Buying airtickets outside of the country of origin, is extremely expensive, compared to buying them in the country of origin. This has been the way things have been done since virtually day one.

As LIL has pointed out, the visa issues will be harder to get around then the airfare issue.
