Gay Pride Weekend?
Hi Guys,
Just booked my second trip for 3.2.05 - 13.2.05 (was on this forum previously as Newboy)with my mate who some of you know Coops, we are also coming with another mate who turns 40.......what i'd like to know is apparently it's Gay Pride weekend or something like that but is it busier than usual that weekend, are there lots more blokes? So far we are booked into bangkok so just want to make sure there will be plenty of girls/ladies around before we decide where to go from bangkok!!!!
Also I've been to Patong beach before in may 02 with coops who has been about 4 times since and is coming over at xmas aswell but would you recommend a couple of days in bangkok or the whole 9 nights in Patong?
Thanks
Gazza

The gays have their own street off of Rat-U-Thit on down towards Sainamyen. And I'm sure they'll put on a big parade. But you won't be finding them in Soi Eric and all the other ladybar sois which will be full of BGs doing business as usual. So head on down to Patong, you've nothing to worry about!

I was there when it was on last year and it didn't make any difference at all to regular Patong life. On one of the days they have a big parade with floats and all that. I was sitting outside the Black Sheep Bar on Rat u thit Road when it came by. It was hopelessly disorganised - somehow it had managed to split itself into two parades, almost as soon as it started. The marshals came running up to the one I was watching, screaming at them that they were going the wrong way and trying to get them to turn round. Chaos ensued. It was a good laugh.

I like HKT and BKK
Gaz, I reckon have 1 or 2 nights in BKK it is a great city, with fun to be had.
Prefer soi cowboy or one of the thai soapy massage joints.
The BGs are a bit sharper than in HKT but the go-go scene there does appeal to me.
Saw the chaos of the gay/pride parade last year, it bought tears to my eyes, what do you expect with drama queens running the drama.
The BG of the moment could not understand my laughter at its disorganisation, then I remembered i am in asia and this to me is one of its appeals.

Hi fun2have.
I'm really glad someone else witnessed it, not just me. It really was ****ing hilarious wasn't it? Thai chaos at its absolute best. And, as you say, one of the reasons why we love the place!

Wish I had a TV camera
Hi Paddy, one of the true highlights of my trip, I only wish I had a TV camera to record it all.
The Thais sometimes wonder why farangs laugh at such things, while we sit there and shake our heads as they break into laughter over crappy cartons or express dismay over those woeful Thai tv soapie shows.
I hope I never lose my cool over the thai brilliance for disorganisation and inefficiency.
Differences are the great thing about LOS.
