Decisions decisions...
Just found out i can extend my stay in LOS by 10 days, so I'll be there for 20 days starting December 19th. By extending, I had to change my flight. Now I will land in Bangkok instead of Phuket. I want to come to Phuket for sure, but I can't decide what to do and when.
So here is my question...
You have 20 days in Thailand (starting in Bangkok) and want to have a good time every day. What do you do? Where do you go first? How long do you stay in each place?
Any input will be appreciated,
Robio

Go to patong beach, there you will have a god stay and enjoy for 20 days. Or go back to bangkok some days before you go home, cheaper things to buy at mbk shopping mall then in patong. But anyway enjoy, you will get a good time. Maybe you can go to pataya also. But don't know if it's nightlife you search for...?

Thailand is huge , so many places to see - so little time
This also depends on how many times you have been to los and how confident you feel about it all.
My recent tour, I flew to Bangkok - taxi straight to pattaya - full on adult nightlife very much enjoyed. then flew to phuket - bg in tow from pattaya- then 2 days later went to Phi Phi islands for 3 days - back to phuket - saw bg in tow off at airport after another 2 days - then stayed patong alone and just slept around and had a party...all in all a well balanced tour and far more interesting than staying in 1 place for 20 days.
Tour #6 in May - I intend to fly out to Chiang Mai - 3 days poss ...then back to BKK - maybe off to Ko Samui - then Krabi - then back to phi phi islands then finish off in patong.
Those are just a few examples of what you can do but there really is so much more choice than iv'e listed. And i suppose it depends on if you like to slob about in one place or don't mind upping sticks regularly and seeing many parts of los in 1 visit.
I would highly recommend pattaya though and then off to phuket at the very least as it is nice to go wild and then chill out after.
And don't forget bangkok for some er......shopping hehehehe

I've been to Bangkok twice and Phuket once. Definitely would be bored if I stayed anywhere for 20 days straight. The other hitch is hotels...it's going to be a beotch to get one. I am booked into the C&N as of now but my flight gets to Bangkok in the late afternoon. So i'm thinking i'll have to cancel that reservation and find another. BB it sounds like you had a blast man. I, too want to check out Samui, but going at this time of year is a bit sketchy due to the lack of accomodations. I'm just going to hope that there's a room for me somewhere...

What would you do?
Hey Steve, BKK isn't the problem...I love it there too. My reservation is a bit of a problem, but I can cancel and hope. I am just interested how other bms would use the 20 days.
For example...4 in the big smoke, 10 in Phuket, 6 in Hua Hin, Pattaya or Chiang Mai?
I do have a budget but money isn't too big of an object. What would you do?

Roll the dice
When I went to LOS 4/2004 I went to BKK 3nts, Patong 10, last plane about 2100 I think.
Then my trip really started went back to BKK, mao mao boom boom mak mak,
off from the northern terminal Nakon Sawan, Kampaengphet, Mae Sot, Chiang Mai and Phitsanlouk.
Okay nightlife is a bit short in those places but I rolled the dice and went.
My thai listening skills improved and I now think thai-glish does damage to your skills rather than improves them.
Last trip Patong for 30 days with friends so I was obligated to be with them.
Roll the Dice and have fun

you can always email c and n hotel with amended details.
as for me well this trip at xmas i will be travelling a bit,but i would certainly hit bkk for maybe 2-3 days, then phuket and i havent done it yet but want to do pattaya so go for that if you want.just do what you want.
if money was no objection for me it would be bkk 2-3 days, pattaya 6-7 days, samui 2-3 days, phuket 6-7 days then back to bkk.
but that is me you are you.
personally this trip i will be a night in bkk, then dunno how long in patong,i have 2 nights booked in khon kaen, then back to patong.i wanna goto pattaya but will have to see.i tried booking so many hotels and all are fully booked,so pattaya will prob wait til april for my usual big trip.unfortunatly i only got 16 days at xmas,i will be away for 30 odd in april.
