land in BKK in about 2 days time (nice long flights! :P) and I have been looking at the weather out there....weather.com makes it look like its really shitty at the moment - can anyone clarify this?

the weather in ko samui looks like its going to be better over the next week so i was going to head straight there from BKK and then head down to phuket about a week later (around the 8th)...

any locals know what going on out there weather wise? or anyone already out there?

i know normally that if it says its 'scattered showers' then that means it only rains for a couple of hours a day - but I dont want to head to patong when its raining solidly!

Those weather sites always seem to show thunder storms in los...take no notice as you will find its sunny/hot as fcuk when you get there.

Agree with you there BB, for a month before our trip in Oct the weather sites showed nothing but chance of rain/overcast/thunderstorms...but during out 8 days in LOS it rained once and that was on the boat back from Phi Phi. On the sunniest day I was in a netcafe and checked the weather, it advised it was a 80% chance of rain that day!! Don't stress about what the sites say for 2 reasons:
1) They are often wrong
2) You can't change the weather, many many other ways to pass the time other than the beach
