Is your email acct an isp account ? Do you normally access it via pop3? That means you access it with outlook or any program like that, if you do you can always set up outlook to fetch email on any machine, you do however need in addition to your user name and password the pop3 and smtp adress for that server. If you do not know what you're doing when trying to set something like that up in Phuket you in worst case might be ending up giving all access to your account.
Some ISP's however have a web solution to check emails, I know mine does...where all I need is my username and password, you should check out that first, if such does not exist you can try their support and hear if they have another solution for you.
A possibility might be something like a online email reader.

Any messages you allready have in your inbox is not accessible this way, you can always forward them to a hotmail account or something though.
Hope this helps
